Congratulations are in order for Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra who were finally able to bring their daughter home from the neonatal/newborn intensive care unit (NICU) this weekend after she spent over 100 days being treated there.
Taking to Instagram to mark the special moment – which coincided with Mother's Day in the US – Nick said: "On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced."
The musician went on, "After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home. Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is."
In his post, Nick thanked the doctors, nurses, and specialists who had supported them "selflessly every step of the way".
"Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass," he added. "Mommy and Daddy love you."
The heartfelt post clearly went down a treat with celebrity friends and fans alike, racking up over 1.5 million likes in a few hours and plenty of comments. "Thank you for sharing it with us! Happy to know she is finally home!! Definitely a badass with the best parents," said one follower, as another fan put: "This is so precious."
Sharing an emotional message to wife Priyanka on her first Mother's Day, Nick continued: "Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers and care takers out there, but I want to take a minute to say a special Mother’s Day wish to my incredible wife @priyankachopra on her first Mother’s Day.
"Babe, you inspire me [in] every way, and you are taking to this new role with such ease and steadiness. I am so grateful to be on this journey with you. You are already an incredible mother. Happy Mother’s Day. I love you."
Earlier this year, Nick and Priyanka surprised fans when they announced they'd welcomed their first child by surrogate – something which they'd kept under wraps until the little one had arrived.
"We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate," the happy couple said in a joint statement shared on both of their Instagram accounts.
