"Something we will never forget"
In an interview with Rolling Stone during the premiere of her Netflix special, Olivia shares her feelings about stopping by the Philippines on October 5, 2024. "It was amazing. You know, I've never been and I always wanted to go my whole life and so it was such a meaningful moment to get to connect with my Filipino fans. And they were so warm and welcoming and couldn't have embraced me more, so I'm very appreciative."
Olivia's concert also served as a first trip to the Philippines for her father. "Dad has never been either so we kinda got to experience it together. Something we will never forget."
If you felt a deep connection with Olivia while she was at the Philippine Arena, you weren't just making it up. She reveals how she thought of her grandfather during the concert. "I was thinking of my grandpa that moment who never got to come see me perform, let alone in the Philippines. And so I was thinking about him and it made me really emotional."
Olivia is Filipino on her father's side, while her mother is of German-Irish descent. She is one of the accomplished international stars who embraces her heritage including Nicole Scherzinger, Bretman Rock, and Bella Poarch.

In an interview with Netflix Philippines, Olivia was asked to rank her recent career highlights. She quickly put performing in The Philippines at the top. "Aww, see that's my number 1," she said. It bested Olivia's milestones including visiting the White House, releasing GUTS, and meeting baby penguin Pesto.
