If you only started watching mainstream Korean dramas during its recent resurgence in the Philippines (around 2016), you probably wouldn’t have seen Park Ji Hu from the newest zombie apocalypse-themed series, All Of Us Are Dead. You might’ve thought she looks like someone a lot of us know, Kim Ji Won (from Descendants Of The Sun, Fight For My Way, Arthdal Chronicles, and Lovestruck In The City). However, she has also been in the K-entertainment industry for a few years now.

Here are some *interesting* facts about Park Ji Hu:

1. She’s legit from Gen Z.

Some dramas star young-looking actors in their late 20s or early 30s who pass off as high school students. Like Park Bo Young and Park Min Young. But in this thriller, the lead character, Nam On Jo, was played by an actual teenager. Park Ji Hu was born on November 7, 2003, which makes her 18 (or 19 in Korean age). In a recent interview with Cosmo.ph, Ji Hu mentions that she was the same age as On Jo (a junior high school student) at the time of filming the drama.

2. On Jo isn’t her "breakout" role.

All Of Us Are Dead isn’t the first project that she starred in. As mentioned, Park Ji Hu has been acting for a few years—since 2016, in fact. One of her first roles was in a fantasy movie called Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned. She played the young lookalike of the lead character.

3. She has a knack for thrillers.

Ji Hu starred in various works that will put you at the edge of your seat. Among them were Fabricated City (2017) and The Witness (2018). She was also in the dramas Sweet Revenge 2 (2018), Beautiful World (2019), and Black Light (2021). And if you already watched All Of Us Are Dead, you’ll certainly know how the drama can keep your heart racing.

4. She was the top biller for a critically acclaimed indie film.

House Of Hummingbird (2018) was set in 1994, which was when Seoul’s Seongsu Bridge collapsed. A very young-looking Park Ji Hu played Eun Hee, a middle school student. Her family was from a working-class background and each member had different struggles. Eun Hee needed comfort, and she found it in one of her teachers. Losing a family member to an accident became a turning point for the girl and allowed Ji Hu to show her serious acting skills. The movie had its world premiere at the 23rd Busan International Film Festival (2018). It received multiple awards and put the actress on the map. She even won Best Actress in the Tribeca Film Festival—the youngest one to receive such a prestigious prize.

5. She wants to meet EXO’s D.O someday.

Maybe she’s an EXO-L or maybe she’s a fan of actor Do Kyungsoo. In an interview for MBC Entertainment, Ji Hu mentioned that if there was an actor she’d love to partner with in the future, it would be the 100 Days My Prince lead. Sorry, Chan Young!

6. She’s in the same entertainment agency as Kim Go Eun, Park Bo Young, and Han Hyo Joo.

They both belong to one of the most popular agencies in South Korea, BH Entertainment (nope, not BigHit. LOL!) Other notable actors that belong to the same "family" are faces you’ll recognize from recent dramas: Park Hae Soo and Lee Byung Hun (Squid Game), Lee Ji Ah (The Penthouse), and Jo Bok Rae (that senior producer guy in Our Beloved Summer). If her sunbaes would be the gauge of success, we’re thrilled to see what else is in store for Ji Hu!

9. She’s starring in a drama with Kim Go Eun and Nam Ji Hyun.

Set to be broadcast this 2022, Little Women will revolve around three sisters. Despite their poor background, they don't give up, and they stand up against the most powerful families in the country. When you read teasers, you’ll see mentions of a "big incident" that will turn their lives around. We can’t wait to see what that is and to witness their dynamic as siblings.

While there is no news yet when exactly the movie will come out and what her role will be, Ji Hu has been confirmed as a cast member of Concrete Utopia. The storyline is a group of survivors trying to find refuge after a powerful earthquake hits Seoul. Pretty exciting! Who knows? Her background in surviving a zombie takeover might just come in handy!
