"Poland, here I come," Miss Supranational Philippines 2023 Pauline Amelinckx wrote on Instagram. A month after she was awarded the title, the 27-year-old Filipina-Belgian is finally off to Poland to compete in the international pageant.
"This is really it. We have waited and prayed for this day and finally (after all the stressful, busy, sad, and happy days) here we are," she added. "This is just the start, and although I do feel some nerves on this new journey, the excitement and gratitude outweigh all of that. We never really are 100% ready, (If we waited to be 100% ready all the time, we might never even start) what's important is to have the courage to take that 1st step and be willing to grow along the way."
The beauty queen arrived at the airport wearing a blue halter dress with matching blue tights. The highlight of her stunning send-off outfit is a pair of Philippine flag-inspired earrings by Filipina designer Farah Abu.
ICYMI, Pauline recently won a pre-pageant contest at Miss Supranational called the Supra Chat, where candidates were given a chance to introduce themselves by answering a set of questions.
During the online challenge, she was asked: "What is the most important quality a Miss Supranational brand ambassador should embody?"
"I think the most important quality would be dedication towards herself and her own personal growth," she said. "As we go through these different challenges and journeys, we shouldn't be able to give up on ourselves and the amazing person that's waiting after each challenge. But also, the dedication to the Miss Supranational organization that we get to work with, because it's through that particular partnership that we'll be able to flourish and blossom even more and open up so many different opportunities. As long as we have that dedication within us, we would be able to catapult ourselves to so many different opportunities and experiences that would forever change our lives."
The Miss Supranational 2023 pageant is happening on July 14. Pauline will compete for the *second* crown for the Philippines, after Mutya Datul in 2013.
