Philmar Alipayo woke up and chose love this heart's day together with his partner, Andi Eigenmann. After a tumultuous week filled with comments from different sides about their recent tattoo controversy, the couple has cleared the air by showing another side of their now-peaceful romance.
In a new Facebook video, Philmar shared how he prepared his simple Valentine's Day gift for Andi. And no, it's not the usual fancy flowers or chocolates. Instead, Philmar harvested a banana flower and arranged it into a bouquet with some flowers he got outside their house.
He proudly showed off his creation in the Facebook video before giving it to Andi. The 34-year-old celebrity accepted Philmar's gift with the widest smile. "Thank you, mahal," Andi remarked. Their kids, Lilo and Koa, were witnesses to the sweet moment between their parents. "We have lunch," Andi joked about the banana flower bouquet LOL!
Some people from the internet lauded Philmar's gesture to keep it simple this Valentine's Day. His video comes a week after their relationship woes were bared in public after some netizens noticed that they weren't following each other on Instagram. Along with it were a couple of cryptic posts from Andi referring to a certain friend who got a couple tattoo with Philmar. (BTW, Andi and Philmar are now following each other again on Instagram.)

Andi Eigenmann and Philmar Alipayo's tattoo issue
It didn't take long before the Internet discovered that Andi was referring to Siargao-based Swedish photographer Pernilla Sjoö—who also happens to be a really good friend of another celebrity, Derek Ramsay.
And while the internet came out divided regarding the controversy—with some blaming Pernilla and the others attacking Philmar for his presumably cheater-like attitude—Derek was out there expressing his strong sentiments against Philmar and Andi's actions.
While there are many aspects as to what really happened, Derek highlighted three things in a recent interview with Ogie Diaz. Firstly, Derek illustrated how he didn't think Philmar had the "balls" to stand up for Pernilla. Secondly, Derek also commented on how he thought it was wrong for Andi and Philmar to choose to publicize their fight. And thirdly, he disclosed that Pernilla is actually in a "very happy relationship."
"I wish Philmar, excuse me for using this term, would have the balls to be a man. Magpaka-lalaki ka. Ayusin mo ang problema mo sa asawa mo, unahin mo 'yan, tama ka diyan. Pero 'wag mong bastusin 'yung tao na tumulong sayo sa lahat ng problema mo [...] Sinabi ko sa kanya [Pernilla], mali 'yung ginawa mo sa tattoo. Naiintindihan ko it's a cultural difference because she's not from here, but she's willing to accept that and apologize for that," Derek told Ogie.
