"Exhausting and hurtful"—that's how Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach described the cruel and disrespectful message she received from a stranger on Instagram. (The audacity, right?!)
In a shocking display of online hate, the IG user first took a swipe at Pia's choice of luxury items, questioning whether she could afford unique designs from Hermes. "Why black and brown Hermes purse is all you got? [sic] Para madali iterno? Di afford unique design??" the person wrote in response to Pia's IG Story featuring her outfit for the day.
But the attacks didn't stop there. The stanger also confessed to praying and manifesting (?!) for Pia's divorce, even going as far as accusing her of being a "user." The same person added that it would be "better" if she were pregnant first—just so she could end up as a single mother.
"Praying for your divorce soon, soon he will realize you are a user and can't bring anything in the table. Pero mas maganda if pregnant ka muna so you'll be divorce [sic] single mom. Manifesting," the person added.
Pia took to her IG Stories to call out the below-the-belt remarks, emphasizing that this kind of online behavior should no longer be tolerated. "Just another day, another DM. Wild, right? C'mon people. Bagong taon na. Nag CNY pa," she wrote.
"It's exhausting, and hurtful din ha. Let's stop normalizing this kind of online behavior. Out na natin yung ganito for 2025 and instead, let's be nice to each other and support and uplift one another," Pia added.

Pia Wurtzbach Calls Out Disrespectful Instagram DM
Almost every day, headlines feature celebrities and personalities being hated on—Andrea Brillantes and even Kylie Versoza frequently face plastic surgery accusations and body-shaming remarks. For Pia, this isn't the first time she has been on the receiving end of online hate. She has repeatedly faced attempts to undermine her achievements and worth.

Previously, she responded to critics who questioned her presence at fashion weeks, particularly those who dismissed her with remarks like "hindi ka bagay diyan, beauty queen ka lang, stay in your lane."
"Ito naman na nagta-transition ako into a different field, new opportunities, may bago na naman akong naririnig... The more you tell me no, the more I'm going to try to prove you wrong. Don't tell me I can't do something because that is the sure way for me to try to make it happen," Pia emphasized.
"Nothing fuels me more than negativities, bashers, naysayers, people who diminish my efforts and my worth," she added.
