Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is about to fulfill her 'secret dream' of joining her first marathon and the beauty queen made it extra special as she signed up for the New York City Marathon that's happening on November 6.
In an Instagram post, Pia shared snaps with her fiance Jeremy Jauncey as she went to pick up her bib. She wrote, "As a first-time marathoner, I AM SO EXCITED to be here: To see, feel, taste the spirit of the iconic @nycmarathon."
"I'm so happy that I get to share this moment with Jeremy since he was the first person to know that this was a secret dream of mine," Pia shared. She said that she kept it for so long as she was embarrassed and insecure about her athletic capabilities.
"Imagine saying, 'I want to run a marathon' when you don't even run 10 minutes on a treadmill. Nahiya ako. But I wanted it! I had a vision in my head I just needed to make it into reality… and now here we are. Sobrang lapit na and I’m actually really doing it," Pia wrote.
Pia also said that for years she was looking for something to get her excited as much as Miss Universe did and wrote, "I kept looking and trying new things but couldn't find that feeling again… Until now."
Pia also shared her excitement as she posted a series of Instagram Stories when she picked up her bib. One of her posts reads, "Please bear with me as I document every part of this experience. I'm THAT excited."
