Prince Harry has revealed the name of his highly-anticipated memoir that is set to come out in January next year. The prince's book will be called Spare and will be released globally on 10 January 2023.

The highly-anticipated autobiography was initially chalked for release in Autumn 2022 but was delayed following the death of the Queen.

Harry’s book, whose title refers to his position as the ‘spare’ son to Prince William’s role as heir to the throne, has been described by publisher Penguin Random House as holding “raw, unflinching honesty.”

The 416-page read will start with the Duke of Sussex’s own account of his somber walk behind his mother’s coffin watched by millions on September 6, 1997 when Harry was just 12-years old, and go on to explore “the eternal power of love over grief.”

The book comes after two years of turmoil for the royal family, from the dramatic announcement that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be stepping back from their royal duties, to the scandal surrounding Prince Andrew’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, and the deaths of Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh, and the monarch.

Harry and Meghan’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 saw the couple open up about their reality within the walls of the so-called Firm of the royal family, with Meghan citing her own mental health issues and alleging racism within the institution. Buckingham Palace responded to the couple’s claims at the time, saying that “recollections may vary”.

Aside from his personal feelings on familial matters, Spare is likely to chart Harry’s career in the military and his life as a father to Archie and Lilibet.

Harry will also read the audiobook which will also be released on January 10, 2023.
