We can finally hear what Rachel Alejandro has to say about her viral photo that showcases her *uncanny* resemblance to former Vice President Leni Robredo's visuals.
She recalled that it was when she posted her bikini pic during her birthday this year that the resemblance phenomenon was actually revived among netizens. She finds being compared to Leni a compliment and of course, flattering.

"Nag-start 'yan 'nung birthday ko... Sabi ko, oh my god, nabuhay na naman 'to... Reaction ko lang was: netizens nakakatawa kayo," she said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Aside from her bikini pic going viral, netizens also poked fun at her recent snap with her Spanish husband Carlos Santamaria. Still relating to her resemblance to Leni, some netizens shared her post with the caption, "Sa gobyernong tapat, magkaka-afam ang lahat."
Rachel continued to express her realizations from becoming viral, "We Filipinos find the funny in everything. How do I feel about being compared to VP Leni, I admire her, I respect her, and I think she's very pretty. So it's definitely a compliment para sa akin."
She even quipped about what she thinks makes her look like Leni. "Para sabihin nila na kahawig ko siya, I think 'yung mata 'di ba?" Rachel said before laughing.
The singer was also asked about her thoughts about playing the former vice president in a possible biopic in the future. Rachel is very well open to the idea and she affirms, "Definitely! Kung meron man, count me in, I would love that... I would love to play VP Leni Robredo in any film that might be in the works in the future."
Rachel Alejandro's resemblance first went viral in 2021
Rachel actually mentioned that it was not the first time that her pic went viral for being compared to Leni. True enough, we have unearthed her photo which Leni also posted once in 2021. Lo and behold, it was also a bikini pic at the beach!
Leni posted on February 1, 2021, sharing a viral post with Rachel's pic. Leni wrote on Facebook, "Was initially confused why a number of people are sending me this. Kalma lang po. Hindi ako 'yan. Andito po ako sa opisina, wala sa Palawan. Ako na po humihingi ng paumanhin kay Rachel Alejandro."
The viral post in question humorously read, "Nasaan ang bise presidente? Busy naman pala sa Palawan."
