Rere Madrid gave us quite the update at the Preview Ball 2024. The Preview Ball 2024 was in its full glory on September 6, 2024. Several fashion stars, celebrities, and influencers flaunted their stylish outfits. While we admired their glamorous looks, we couldn't help but turn our attention to Rere—who announced that she's joining Miss Universe Philippines soon!
The 24-year-old actress who looked like a goddess in her nude-colored gown, had a quick banter with Preview Ball 2024's host, Tim Yap. When Rere was asked about what people can expect from her, she confidently spilled that she's preparing to be a Miss Universe Philippines candidate.
In case you didn't know, Rere is the sister of actor Ruru Madrid. During their short conversation at the Preview Ball 2024's nude red carpet event, Tim even told the short story of how mesmerized he was by Rere's beauty when they first met. At the time, Tim also didn't know that Rere was Ruru's sister.
During her interview at the PEP.ph booth during Preview Ball 2024, Rere detailed some parts of her preparation for her upcoming Miss Universe bout. She revealed that it has always been her dream to be a beauty queen and to compete in the prestigious pageant.
"I'm joining Miss Universe Philippines soon so kailangan ko mag-ready sa lahat ng training—pasarela, communication, speech. So, 'yun 'yung pinagkakaabalahan ko ngayon for now."
Even though Rere entered showbiz with plans of being an actress too, her family remains supportive of her goal to enter the pageant scene soon. In fact, her brother has been one of the most supportive about it. "Nafi-feel ko 'yung pagiging kuya ni Kuya Ruru," the 24-year-old aspiring beauty queen remarked.
She added, "Kasi siya talaga, ever since, parang siya na 'yung naging mentor ko sa lahat—sa showbiz industry, kung paano ako sa pagiging public figure, actually."
Rere Madrid's love life
Rere is a homegrown talent of GMA's Sparkle Artist Center. She debuted in the seventh season of the reality and talent show StarStruck and subsequently starred in the GMA teleserye, To Have and To Hold.
As a certified Kapuso through the years, she has frequented the GMA Gala. But this year, she attended it with a plus one! She arrived to the gala on July 20, 2024 with basketball star Kai Sotto. The two have been romantically linked for some time now.
When asked about the status of her love life, Rere couldn't help but smile at the question. "Oh my god, namula ako! I'm very happy, yeah. I'm very happy," she giddily told PEP.ph.
She noted that her friends have long noticed her ~inspired~ aura, and although she didn't specifically mention anyone making her happy at the moment, she assured that there was someone making her smile. "Siguro kagaya nga ng sinasabi ng lahat ng circle of friends ko, mas naging light 'yung vibe. Parang lagi na lang daw akong tumatawa, naka-smile, 'yun lang," Rere concluded.
