According to the author, the British director James Bobin will be helming the pilot episode. "James knows the Percy Jackson books well. His kids are fans so we're in great hands. Thanks to all of you for your excitement about this series, it's gonna be great," Rick reassured the fans.

In late 2020, Rick and his wife promised that they were going to be more *involved* in the creation of the series, so we can be assured that the upcoming show will stay true to the books.

The book series was first published in 2005, and it follows the story of 12-year-old boy Percy Jackson living in New York. He discovers he has a god for a parent—Poseidon, to be exact—when he enters a camp for half-bloods like him.

Percy and his fellow demigods' adventures have been featured on the big screen with the 2010's The Lightning Thief and 2013's Sea of Monsters. Both movies starred Logan Lerman in the titular role.
