Weddings are typically a happy occasion for the family, but it doesn't seem to be the case for the respective clans of PBA player Robert Bolick and social media influencer, Cassandra Yu.
The couple recently announced via social media posts that they had already tied the knot. Both Robert and Cassandra shared photos from their civil wedding, receiving congratulatory messages from their fans.
"Mr. & Mrs. Bolick, everyone!" Cassandra wrote in a Facebook upload. "Two months ago, 3/22/22, I married the love of my life in an intimate civil wedding ceremony in Cebu."

However, netizens were quick to notice the reaction of a certain Zeny Bolick to the Philippine Star's report about the wedding. Zeny happens to be Robert's mom.
"He [got] married without telling his parents," Zeny wrote. "What a shame. I don't like this girl and she is not welcome in my house, either in Ormoc or in the US. I don't even know what kind of a woman she is. He never introduced to us this woman."

A netizen named Maria Carmela Yu also replied to Zeny's comment, introducing herself as Cassandra's sister.
"And do you think we like your son?" Maria Carmela said. "He has dragged my sister's name into a mess that he created and he never stood up for it."
Maria Carmela went on to say that Robert had been a bad influence on Cassandra and that he had convinced her to get married without their family's knowledge.

A few hours later, Robert posted a lengthy post on Facebook, where he admitted that he did not inform his family of their wedding. He also expressed how much he loves them, despite what they say.
"Sa aking pamilya, mahal na mahal ko kayo," Robert wrote. "'Di niyo lang talaga alam nangyayari. For sure, kasalanan ko kasi 'di ako nagsabi, pero paano mo sabihin mga ganung bagay sa pamilya mo? Pero kahit ganun pa man, mahal na mahal ko kayo at welcome kayo sa buhay namin ni Cassandra at sa magiging anak namin in the future."
Robert's post also addressed his ex-girlfriend, volleyball player Aby Maraño, who seemed to have posted a reaction to their wedding announcement, saying, "When the time is right—i-retri mo." Incidentally, Cassandra's caption on her wedding announcement post read, "When the time is right, when the intention is clear, when the heart is ready, God will surely let you experience being loved by the person He prepared for you."

"Una sa lahat, Aby, 'wag ka masyado feeling victim," Robert said. "Alam mo naman yung rason bakit ganun; alam mo ginawa mo, kumalat pa nga e, pero never ko linabas kasi kailangan pag-usapan yun as a couple para ayusin kasi ganun naman dapat, e, 'di ba?"
Robert also proceeded to reveal that Aby allegedly got pregnant and had the baby aborted.
"Sobra na rin; alam mo ginawa mo, buntis ka tapos nagpalaglag ka, tama ba 'yon? Sino ba [namang] lalaki gusto sumama sa isang babaeng gano'n? Mismo pamilya mo 'di alam paano pa kaya teammate mo, alam ba nila?"
As of this writing, Aby has not yet issued a statement or reaction to Robert's post.
Robert and Aby were rumored to have broken up in October 2021 after Robert posted a photo on vacation with Cassandra, sparking cheating allegations.
