Good morning, and I think we can honestly say that we didn't see this coming: Robert Pattinson, who portrayed ~*sparkly*~ vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie series, is set to play Batman very soon! Yes, BATMAN. Bruce Wayne. Alfred's boss. The caped crusader was last portrayed on the big screen by Ben Affleck.
According to Variety, Rob is in negotiations to star in The Batman, director Matt Reeves' superhero film which will hit theaters on June 25, 2021! The shortlist also includes Nicholas Hoult, Armie Hammer, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. If this pushes through (and IT WILL), Robert will be the youngest actor to ever play Batman on the big screen! Here's how Twitter's reacting:
Pattinson fans are ecstatic, of course!
He's living the dream and we're totally here for the Twilight and Harry Potter references.
People are urging others to watch his lesser-known films! Twilight and Harry Potter aren't his only projects, you guys.
Fans who have ~snubbed~ the recent DC movies have had a change of heart.
And, of course, there are people who are not really into the whole Rob-becoming-Batman thing.
