His engagement with his non-showbiz girlfriend Maiqui Pineda was reported by ABS-CBN entertainment journalist MJ Felipe, who posted an exclusive video of Robi’s low-key yet *super romantic* proposal in Japan. “Exclusive: Robi Domingo and Maiqui Pineda are engaged. The proposal happened in the middle of the famous Shibuya crossing in Tokyo, Japan earlier today. Congratulations @robertmarion and Maiqui,” he wrote.

Robi and Maiqui have been together for about four years now. In an interview, the actor shared that they were batchmates in college but weren’t friends back then! Their love story just started years after, when they ~serendipitously~ bumped into each other at a party, which the actor wasn’t keen on attending in the first place!
As it turns out, true love comes in the most unexpected moments. Clearly head over heels with his ladylove, he gushed about her: “There's another world na nakikita ko sa kanya. And also, she puts my feet down. 'Yon yung pinakamasarap na pakiramdam kapag kasama ko si Maiqui. Okay, everything's real, pero lahat ng pangarap ko parang natupad ko sa kanya."
