Ruffa Gutierrez responded to rumors that she allegedly kicked two house helpers out of her home without giving them their salaries. On Twitter, she directly replied to former COMELEC Commissioner Rowena Guanzon, who tweeted about the incident.
The said tweet was posted late last night with the lawyer sharing how her friend had "to rescue two household helpers who were thrown out of a first-class village." Adding fuel to the fire, the helpers were allegedly denied proper compensation after their termination.
The next day, she not so subtly gave away who the aforementioned high-profile homeowner was, name-dropping Ruffa. “Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez, is it true?”
The actress, clearly unfazed, shared her side: “Let me make it clear po. I did not fire anyone. They wanted to leave on their own accord.” She also disclosed that she’s rarely home since she’s busy filming a new movie recently and that her household staff were having disagreements.
“Nang-aaway po sila sa ibang kasamahan sa bahay ng wala po ako. They were demanding to leave the house, which I said they were able to do after I returned home from work, so I could talk to them before they leave.”
“The new kasambahays who have been in our household for only around two weeks were fighting our 68-year-old senior mayordoma (who has been under my care for 18 years.)”
In the end, Ruffa stated that she’s a generous homeowner, which explains why most of her helpers have stayed with her for so many years. ‘We are family. Through thick and thin, ika nga.”
She concluded by saying that her lawyers are handling the situation accordingly.
