Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome have just welcomed their first child into the world, less than a month after announcing they were set to become parents. Congratulations to this gorgeous new family!
The happy news was revealed in a statement to The Mirror, as the couple's publicist announced, "Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl. We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time."
Rupert, 31, and Georgia, 28, have stayed pretty private throughout their whole pregnancy, so it's understandable that they're yet to reveal a baby name or release any pictures.
Georgia's pregnancy was first announced after the couple were spotted out on a lockdown stroll last month, with Georgia's bump appearing to be on display.
The couple later confirmed the news with a statement from their representative, saying, "Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are excited to announce they are expecting a baby and would please ask for privacy at this time."
The Harry Potter and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging stars have been dating since 2011, but they've notoriously kept their relationship on the down-low, so much so that fans hadn't even realised they were a couple until 2018. TBH, in the modern world, keeping anything a secret is an impressive feat.
It seems like the new baby has come at the perfect time for the couple, with Rupert telling The Guardian in 2018 that he was hoping to have children in the near future. "I’d like to settle down and have kids soon," he revealed. "If I had a son, would I call him Ron? It’s quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint’s a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with."
