Sandara Park Tours Minzy Around Her High School In Pasay
Sandara's Adviser Says The Celebrity Used To Be Very Quiet And Shy
It's a special episode for Dara TV as Sandara goes down memory lane for her Dara Tour—an online series where she goes to different travel destinations. Sandara and Minzy visited Philippine Pasay Chung Hua Academy (PPCHA), where Sandara studied from 1996 to 2004. “Oh, it's my school! It's a Chinese school. That's why I was good at Chinese," Sandara remarked as they headed to the gate.
Sandara shared her school memories as she and Minzy walked around the campus. It includes cute stories about having a crush on the basketball captain and running away when her eyes would meet his. She also admitted to writing to her crush and expressing affection, although it didn't work out. Sounds like something straight out of a K-drama!
Sandara and Minzy continued to go around and proceeded to one classroom. Soon after, Sandara's grade six adviser entered. The two shared a long hug and started tearing up.
Sandara's adviser talked about what her old student was like, "You know what kind of a girl she was? Very quiet. She was really very, very quiet," The adviser also expressed her pride over Sandara's success, "Yeah, I couldn’t imagine that she would be going this far. To sing and dance in front of so many people when here we cannot make her do it. See, people really come out as they grow old. They will spread their wings. It's a good thing that she was able to spread her wings really well. Keep working."
Sandara And Her Origin Story
As Sandara's mentor said good-bye, Sandara turned to Minzy and said her adviser was also in charge of the choir. The 2NE1 vocalist quipped how her teacher was surprised over her intention to join the choir, as Sandara could barely articulate herself in class.
Minzy commented, "Your personality seems to have changed since elementary school." Sandara agreed and revealed how she later on found out that she had selective mutism before, which explains why she could barely even greet anyone when at school. Sandara then mentioned how she learned Filipino after her debut for her fans.
More memories flowed, including how Sandara performed at the school auditorium for the first time. "The entire school was shocked, both teachers and students alike," Sandara said, "'You have a golden voice,' they said."
"That was the start of your career," Minzy interjected. Sandara replied, "Totally." Minzy reflects on the school tour, "I've seen you as a member of 2NE1 but this was before all of that, before you officially debuted, so it gives me the sense that I've come to know you a little deeper. It was really a heartwarming day here at this school."
"It was the first time I brought a friend to my old school," noted Sandara. "I invited many guests to Dara Tour, but we'd go to the tourist spots. My old neighborhood is something personal to me, so I never suggested going there."
Sandara and Minzy hugged each other and soaked up the *friendship feels.*
Thank you, Sandara, for sharing this part of your story. It makes us even bigger fans of yours!
