At a recent event for the opening of a beauty and wellness spa in EDSA Shangri-la Plaza, PEP.ph was able to speak with Sarah to know her *thoughts* about being named the "Patron Saint of Waldas" and she was not afraid to get candid!
Sarah Lahbati Reacts To Being Called A "Waldasera"
"I think it's funny. Yeah, it's just something I laugh about," she revealed.
Sarah mentioned that she "usually [doesn't] read comments," but her friends started talking about it, which got her attention. And despite "waldasera" being a typically negative term, she takes the witty comments in stride and doesn't feel negatively about it.
"I don't take anything seriously. That's another secret to [being] happy. I don't take anything seriously. If not, I will be going crazy. It's just a funny, funny thing that's been going around."
And in true patron saint fashion, Sarah encouraged everyone to spend their money and splurge—*especially* if they deserve it.
"To everyone who wants to waldas, go ahead." Amen!

In case you were curious where all this talk of being a waldasera came from, it originated from Sarah's mother-in-law, Annabelle Rama. The talent manager mentioned it in one of her controversial statements amidst separation rumors between Sarah and her husband, Richard Gutierrez, which netizens interpreted as shade towards her daughter-in-law.
"Nakikita mo naman, hindi mo na kailangang magsalita pa. Nakikita mo na yan. Si Richard trabaho nang trabaho, 'yung isa nagwawaldas ng pera. 'Yun lang ang masasabi ko diyan."
Despite all the drama, Sarah remains to be a good sport, with her even joining in on the joke in the form of her ~subtle~ TikToks and going as far as liking comments of netizens who joke that she's the "waldas queen." She's active on the platform and often posts lip-syncing videos to iconic pop culture quotes, with the most recent one being an audio of Nicki Minaj saying, "No, I don't think you understand. I'm obsessed."
Sarah then captioned her video with: "Who wants to go shopping with me?"
@sarahlahbatigutz who wants to go shopping with me
? im obsessed - .
And in case you're really, really curious about the state of Sarah's finances, she revealed to PEP.ph that she's actually good with her money!
"I'm actually quite good, very good, actually, at managing my finances for someone who grew up in Switzerland, in like the country of banking," she divulged.
"So, I have always been quite organized with expenses, et cetera, schedules, and all that. It's something that comes naturally to me."
Keep doing you, Sarah!
