Sita Yan, mother of the late Rico Yan, has broken her silence on recent news that have been circulating pertaining to the late matinee idol’s past relationships. Via his Youtube vlog, Ogie Diaz shared Sita’s message (given through Bobby Yan) saying that the recent relationship claims concerning Rico are unfair and disrespectful.
Sita’s full statement begins with, "It has been 21 years since Rico passed on March 29, 2002. The pain of the family losing a son and a brother, has been permanently etched into our being. The recent news swirling around Rico is very unfair. He is no longer around to give his comment, to either refute, deny, or acknowledge the claims. It is not only unfair but disrespectful."
"I ask everyone concerned to please STOP using Rico's name for their own individual purposes. Please leave Rico, and us in peace. Thank you," she concludes. The Viber message sign off reads "Sita Yan, Rico's mother."
Earlier this month Maricaren Pallasigue, the former 90’s actress who goes by the screen name Sabrina M., revealed to the media that she was in a two-year relationship with Rico and had only kept it a secret back then to protect their careers.
Claudine Barretto, who was in a relationship with Rico from 1998 to 2002, strongly refuted Sabrina’s relationship claims. In fact, Claudine will be taking legal actions against Sabrina for proliferating false claims, according to her lawyer.
