*August 4, 2021 Update*
We can't believe it's been MORE THAN A YEAR since Son Ye Jin's last drama *crash-landed* into our lives. We've missed her sooo much. The long wait is over because her agency MSTeam Entertainment announced her new project, a JTBC series called 39. More good news: the main cast has just been confirmed!
Here's what we know about 39 (so far):
What's the plot of 39?
Soompi tells us: "39 is about three friends who met in their second year of high school and are now on the verge of turning 40. The drama will tell the beautiful and emotional everyday stories of three 39-year-old women who encounter unforeseen circumstances." This seriously sounds like another heartwarming barkada K-drama and we can't wait to watch it!
Who's starring in it?
Son Ye Jin
Looks like Ye Jin will be serving Yoon Se-ri vibes again. In 39, she will play Cha Mi Jo, a woman "who grew up in a wealthy environment and is now the head dermatologist of a clinic in Gangnam."

Jeon Mi Do
The actress is in talks to play Cha Mi Jo's friend Jung Chan Young, "a 39-year-old acting teacher." The character initially dreamed of becoming an actress and has a "blunt and harsh" way of speaking.
Where we last saw her: Hospital Playlist Season 2 (2021)
Kim Ji Hyun
Playing the *third* friend is actress Kim Ji Hyun, who plays department store cosmetics manager Jang Joo Hee. Soompi tells us that "due to her timid personality, Joo Hee has yet to really experience a romantic relationship." Like Jeon Mi Do, Kim Ji Hyun is also known as a theater actress.

Yeon Woo Jin
The actor is considering the role of the yet-unnamed male lead!
Where we last saw him: Undercover (2021)
Other celebs who are in talks to appear in the series are Ahn So Hee, Lee Moo Saeng, and Lee Tae Hwan.
When will we be able to watch 39?
If everything goes ~according to plan~ the drama will start filming by August 2021. As for an *official release date*...stay tuned for updates!
