Song Joong Ki is now in self-quarantine for two whole weeks after returning home from Colombia where production of his highly anticipated film, Bogotá, took place.

The rest of the cast and crew, including co-star Lee Hee Joon, will also be in self-quarantine as a precautionary safety measure amid the coronavirus pandemic. There are over 100 staff members in the film's production.

This follows the announcement made on March 20 that the film's production would be put on hold in light of the continued spread of COVID-19. "We are looking for ways to make sure the staff and cast members can return home as safely as possible, by arranging a flight as soon as we can," said the production team.

Meanwhile, Joong Ki's agency, History D&C, confirmed that the 34-year-old actor is in good health: "Currently, there are no issues with Song Joong Ki's health. He will return home and take a rest, and we will be monitoring him as much as possible during his two weeks of self-quarantine."

According to KoreabooBogotá began filming back in January and was able to complete around 40 percent of the entire film before it was suspended. It is unclear if the team was able to film all the scenes set in Colombia, and it has yet to be confirmed if the production itself will resume.

Bogotá is a crime thriller about a man in his 30s who emigrates to Colombia and settles in a market in the capital of Bogotá. The Kim Sung Je-helmed film was slated for release in December 2020.

There are 378 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Colombia and three deaths. The country has been on a 19-day national lockdown since Tuesday, March 24, to curb the spread of the fatal virus.
