As we cap another (eventful) year, Spotify is here to take us on a musical recap of how we've lived through the year 2024. ICYMI, the 2024 Spotify Wrapped is now available—and we were thrilled to see our fave artists topping everyone's charts this year.
Since they launched in 2015 (previously called "Year In Music"), Spotify Wrapped has been celebrating not just everyone's music taste, but also the artists and songwriters who have shown immense growth and potential throughout the year.
If you haven't explored your Spotify yet, on December 4, 2024, Spotify Philippines users can already access a "Wrapped" widget on their app. The widget reveals everything you, as a subscriber, did in 2024. To name a few, Spotify Wrapped unveiled 1) Your Top Songs 2024—which is literally the top songs you've probably had an eargasm to (and they listed it in chronological order too); 2) Your Music Evolution 2024—which is basically your different seasons and moods this year but music-fied; 3) and oh, Spotify Wrapped also sent video clips of your Top Artists!
Tbh, there's so much that can be said about a person if one looks at someone's Spotify Wrapped. However, as one Cosmo editor noted, "My Spotify Wrapped does not define my personality." Agreed! But whether you would think that your Spotify Wrapped would describe you as a person, or perhaps it rounds up your 2024 in a nutshell, it's there and it's based truthfully on your Spotify activity ;)
Who are the Top Artists & Top Songs in the Philippines based on the 2024 Spotify Wrapped?

With all that's said and done, let's take a quick dive into the artists and songs that totally made it this year. In the Philippines, there has been a really good mix of homegrown artists and globally renowned artists!
Topping the list of Top Artists in the Philippines is Taylor Swift. With all of the Filipinas who made it to her Eras Tour (despite it being held outside of the country) definitely practicing all the songs in her jam-packed setlist, there's no doubt that Taylor would make it as #1 for the Philippines. Besides, we just all love Taylor, don't we?
Following Taylor is a breakthrough Pinoy singer this 2024: Hev Abi. The 22-year-old rapper expressed how grateful and humbled he is of the recognition he has received this year. "'Di naman siya nakakagulat para sa akin—lahat naman siguro ng artist gusto maging leading in some way, somehow. Pero gusto ko rin isipin na hindi siya nakakagulat para maging steady ka lang, grateful lang lagi."
Hev Abi rose to fame with his viral "WELCOME2DTQ," and "Alam Mo Ba Girl," songs which were also widely used for some TikTok trends content creators did this year. "Ako naman ginagawa ko lang 'yung music na gusto kong mapakinggan. 'Yung recognition ng mga tao, ng Spotify, bonus na lang. Thankful ako na maraming nag-e-enjoy at nakaka-relate sa music ko, which is 'yun na rin siguro 'yung reason kung bakit nasasabi na nirerepresent ko ‘yung new sound ng Pinoy hip-hop," he noted.
And then there's another favorite of ours: Ariana Grande. She not only snatched our attention with her groundbreaking role in Wicked, as Glinda (or Galinda, LOL), but also gave us wonderful songs with her 2024 comeback album, eternal sunshine. Ariana is the babe we always want to listen to!
Of course, BINI is among the top artists because, obviously, they were the talk of the town this year. The eight-member girl group broke music charts and streaming platforms with their hit song Pantropiko. Their streak grew bigger when they immediately followed their viral song with a viral EP called "Talaarawan," which has "Salamin, Salamin" as its title track. Everyone is absolutely in their Bloom (BINI's fandom name) era!
Placing fifth in the Philippines' top Spotify artists in 2024 is Bruno Mars. (Pinoy pride!) The award-winning Filipino-American singer captured the hearts of Filipino listeners with his super trending songs namely "Die with a Smile," in collaboration with Lady Gaga, and his latest one titled, "APT" which he sang together with Rosé.

Aside from artists, Spotify also ranked the songs that made it big for Filipino listeners. The people enjoyed gins&melodies and Hev Abi's "Babaero," Maki's "Dilaw," Dionela (feat. Jay R)'s "sining," Hev Abi's "Walang Alam," and BINI's "Pantropiko."
With that, BINI also topped the list of "Top Groups" according to Spotify Philippines. Following them are Ben&Ben, Cup of Joe, LANY, and One Direction.
And just in case you're curious about the Top Global Artists for everything—yup, Taylor Swift still tops the list. This is her second year headlining the Top Global artists for Spotify. Meanwhile, The Weekend finishes this year as the 2nd placer this 2024,. Bad Bunny, Drake, and Billie Eilish all followed respectively.
ICYC (again), Spotify's Top K-Pop Artists and Songs of 2024
OK, we all know how K-pop is still a booming industry these days. They give us back-to-back viral songs that just hit the right LSS spots in our system, and no we're never complaining about K-pop.
This year, the widely famous boy group, BTS made it as the Top K-pop Artist of 2024. This is despite the group's (slight) inactivity due to the members' military enlistment. But hey, Spotify listeners still love them. BTS' Jung Kook, Jimin, and V were also included as solo artists in the Top 10 list. They started their solo careers right before they entered military training for two years.
For the Top Songs, Jimin's "Who," Jung Kook's "Seven," and "Standing Next To You," are all sitting at the Top 1 to 3 spots respectively. One notable track that made it to the Top 10 Songs of 2024 is Rosé and Bruno Mars' "APT." The song was only released in October 18, 2024 but it actually made it to the Top 6 spot out of the thousands of songs streamed on a daily basis via Spotify. Talk about being impressive, right?
