They say life begins at 40, and for Sunshine Dizon, this milestone marks the start of a new chapter filled with strength, determination, and unwavering self-belief—despite losing some people in her life.
“So as they say, life begins at forty. Guess [I] will be doing that starting now. Thank you for all the love and support. Promise that no matter how others may have painted a different picture of me, I will always strive to be a better human being in spite of and despite of,” she said in an Instagram post.
She also acknowledged that despite the portrayal of her in a different light by others, she remains steadfast in her commitment to personal growth and becoming a better person.
“Bilog ang mundo, minsan sa taas minsan sa baba. Matutong sumabay sa agos ng buhay. Importante wala kang tinapakan at niyurakan,” she said.
Without mentioning names, Sunshine also hinted at losing friends, following an incident of betrayal.
“Now that I’m 40, the best thing I learned from life is choose your friends wisely and who you allow to come in your circle cause you never know when you’re actually raising a snake you treat as more than a family but will eventually swallow you whole,” Sunshine said.
Throughout her life, Sunshine has faced various trials that tested her resilience. From the recent loss of her beloved father to the painful breakup of her marriage several years ago, she has emerged stronger.

“Ask [why] I can still smile? Because I’m blessed. You can never put a good woman down,” she added.
In 2022, Sunshine admitted to experiencing a range of mental health issues, as she shared a photo of some of the medications she was taking.
The GMA mainstay bared that she was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, panic attacks, and abandonment issues. She said that the conditions she has been "just skimming the surface" and shared she's on certain types of medications such as Xanor, Jovia, and Revotril for emergencies, as well as Stilnox.
