A new thriller series, The Night Agent, just dropped on Netflix and viewers are hooked.
The series, based on Matthew Quirk’s bestselling book, follows FBI agent Peter Sunderland (played by Gabriel Basso) who is plunged into a deep, political conspiracy and must then try to save his country.
The show dropped its first season on March 23 and fans are already wondering if there will be a second installment. So, here is everything we know so far about season two of The Night Agent.
What is The Night Agent about?
The Night Agent is a 10-part thriller that follows a low-level FBI agent, Peter Sunderland, who discovers conspirators inside the US government while working in The White House basement one night, along with rogue assassins and a murder witness named Rose who he needs to protect if he is ever going to find any answers.
Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, the series stars Gabriel Basso as the titular character, Oscar-nominated Hong Chau, Fola Evans-Akingbola, D.B. Woodside, and more.
Will there be a season 2 of The Night Agent?
In short, we don’t know. There are no plans or announcement as of yet about a second season.
There wasn’t a huge cliffhanger at the end of season one but the door is definitely open for more action, drama, and twists and turns in season two!
Things usually depend on how well the series performs on Netflix, and fans love the series so far so watch this space for updates!
What might be the storyline on The Night Agent season 2?
While there isn't a sequel to Matthew's book, he has written several other books that could result in a second season such as Inside Threat, Hour of the Assassin and Red Warning, which all follow a similar storyline of an FBI or CIA agent being involved in tons of action and drama.

Some of our favourite characters unfortunately didn’t make it to the end of the first season (Erik Monks and Ben Almora, cries!) thanks to some crazed assassins, but we can expect the following actors to return if there’s a second season.
