Tom Rodriguez is back in the Philippines and ready to fall in love again. The actor made the revelation in an interview on February 29, 2024.
He admitted to dating someone but kept his new partner's identity private. Tom also noted that he is 100 percent healed and ready to give love a second chance.
"I am now [healed]. In fact, I am seeing someone...What you see is what you get. I'm keeping it to myself," he said in the interview.
Tom also shared his "healing journey" during his two-year hiatus when he flew to the United States. For him, there was so much he had realized and appreciated when he took a break from showbiz.
"Mas simple lahat ng bagay. Relish the simple things, kung ano ang para sa'yo, mapupunta sa’yo na hindi mo kailangan 'kailangan ganito, kailangan 'yan,' trying to control life," he remarked. The actor continued saying that he has learned to break free from his worries in life.
"Tinatakot mo 'yung sarili mo. You're living out of fear, out of anxiety. Instead of living out of love, joy, hope. Kapag 'dun ka pala, everything just falls into place," Tom expressed.
Is Tom Rodriguez ready to meet Carla Abellana?
Less than a year after their October 2021 marriage, Tom and Carla Abellana shocked the world with their separation. They have decided to end their seven-year relationship as boyfriend-girlfriend, and their married life that lasted for months.
As the controversies surrounding their breakup intensified, Tom flew to the U.S. and took an indefinite hiatus from showbiz and social media. Now that he is back in the Philippines to start working again, is he ready to meet Carla post-separation?
It's not a problem for Tom and he holds nothing against Carla. "I don't think it matters to me much. We have our own paths and our own lives now. I wish her well," he declared.

Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana to process their divorce in PH
Tom and Carla's divorce was reportedly finalized in June 2022 in the U.S. since Tom is an American citizen. However, their divorce is technically not yet recognized in the Philippines. This is because the country is still pushing for the passage of the Divorce Law.

PEP.ph reported that Carla once opened up about the tedious process they are going through to finalize their divorce in the Philippines. She has details that the Philippine court must recognize the "divorce decree" that Tom made in the U.S.
"Dito sa Pilipinas ibang proseso po siya e. Parang petition po siya e. So, ongoing po yun. Kumbaga, yung ating local court, tatanggapin po nila yun. Kailangan po nilang i-recognize yung decree na iyun, 'yung divorce decree. So, yun po ang parang gagawin na i-update yung status namin dito," said Carla.
Now that Tom is back, they are set to find ways to nullify their marriage in the Philippines.
