ASTRO debuted in February 2016 as entertainment company Fantagio's new K-pop boy group! Over the years, they've *stolen* lots of hearts and we've seen them grow into the adorable idols they are today. The group has six members: MJ, JinJin, Cha Eun Woo, Moonbin, Rocky, and Sanha. Their group name "ASTRO" comes from the Spanish word for "star" which, according to Soompi, "represents the members' wish to dream with the people they love, and become a shining star with them."

ASTRO announced their official fandom name, AROHA, in September 2016. The group's official fan colors, "Vivid Plum" and "Space Violet," were announced in March 2017 and they unveiled their first official lightstick with a star logo later that year! An updated version of their lightstick was also announced in March 2020.
When it comes to awards, ASTRO won the K-POP Singer Award at the 2016 Korea Cultural Entertainment Awards, the Hallyu Popularity Award at the 2017 Seoul Music Awards, the New Wave Award at the 2017 Asia Artist Awards, and the Global Hot Trend Award at the 2019 Soribada Best K-Music Awards. We're sooo proud of these boys!
All six members of the group launched their solo Insta accounts in 2019, much to the delight of their fans. If you're a newbie, here are the basic things you need to know about ASTRO's members:
JinJin: Leader, Main Rapper, Lead Dancer

Jin Jin, the group's leader, is also a songwriter. What's lovable about him is that he isn't afraid to show his feelings on-cam: when the group won the New Wave Award at the 2017 Asia Artist Awards, JinJin was actually tearing up during his speech. After intense days of training, JinJin shared that he likes to eat energy bars and chocolate. He is *sometimes* teased by the younger members, too.

He's adorably ~chaotic~ and is nicknamed the group's "happy virus!" Although he's not the best at speaking in English, one sentence he always tells the camera is this: "My name is MJ. I look younger than the others, but I am not." Cutie! MJ also posts song covers, such as the song "Goodbye" from Hotel Del Luna.
