Love, Cosmo Editors: Must-Watch Picks This February 2025

Bridget Jones's Diary: Mad At The Boy (2025)

Kate: "When the first Bridget Jones's Diary came out in 2001, I was literally a baby. I felt lucky to even watch it decades later because it's too good to pass up on watching the Bridget Jones movie series!

Fast forward to 2025, the classic romantic-comedy film of the 2000s came back with its fourth installment. Some may see it unnecessary (because I initially thought that too), but watching it made me realize how much of a great storyteller Bridget Jones is ;) Bridget Jones's Diary: Mad At The Boy tells the new story of Bridget Jones as a widow and a single mother until a younger man romantically pursues her. And yes, they had an earth-shattering orgasm or whatever.

It was such a heartwrenching spectacle for all the hopeless romantics. It has the perfect balance of everything—friendship, family, grief, dating, and self-love, tackling the notions of age gaps and widowhood in relationships. Renée Zellweger and Hugh Grant who played Bridget and Daniel respectively from the very beginning NEVER lost their spark, their fire, and their chemistry for the film. Colin Firth was also back just to make me cry so hard (!) New actors were also added to the wonderful Bridget Jones universe namely, Leo Woodall and Chiwetel Ejiofor—and they were both revelations!"

Ghosted (2023)

Ida: "The script was kinda cringe at the start and the color-grading was a bit dark for an action rom-com but when you lean into it and don't take it too seriously (and you watch it late into the night, LOL), it is funny. It makes for a fun, mindless watch where you can just (slightly) roast the lines while laughing out loud with your date. The cameos!!! Super funny bit—and wasn't just for the sake of cameos."

Ghosted tells the story of a guy named Cole who falls head over heels for a secret agent, Sadie. Before they can even get to their second date, the world might have to need their saving first, or just Sadie, LOL.

Ghosted stars Chris Evans and Ana de Armas. Stream it on Apple TV+.

Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011)

Clara: "It was a very fun and unpredictable movie. One of the best-written rom-coms to date, in my opinion. The intertwining of storylines and characters was really good and unforced. The climax of the movie, where everybody meets is a really good scene. The ensemble cast totally delivered!"

Crazy, Stupid, Love follows Cal Weaver (Steve Carrell) who finds his life shattered after his wife, Emily (played by Julianne Moore,) admits to infidelity and asks for a divorce. Now in his 40s, Cal is ready to get back into the dating scene with the help of a newfound wingman named Jacob Palmer (portrayed by Ryan Gosling.)

You've Got Mail (1998)

Cherrie: "Before sliding into DMs was a thing, guys and gals met in internet chat rooms. Imagine your whole talking stage happening via email. As an old-fashioned, hopeless romantic girlie, this film gives me pure kilig— from the nostalgic sound of dial-up connecting Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks to the internet, to the thrill of seeing "You’ve got mail" pop up on the screen. It perfectly captures the magic of knowing and falling for someone you've never met in person but feel like you've known forever. The perfect feel-good movie for falling in love."

You've Got Mail also covers the enemies-to-lovers trope. The twist is that Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) and Joe Fox (Tom Hanks)—both each others' sworn competitors due to their jobs as booksellers—will unknowingly engage in an internet romance through their faceless online personas.

Hello, Love, Again (2024)

Marie: "Biggest takeaway: You will never lose what's meant for you. Kahit saan ka mapadpad, kahit gaano man katagal ang panahon o oras ang lumipas, talagang pagtatagpuin kayo ng tadhana and everything will fall into its right place. Minsan hindi mo talaga masasabi ang kapalaran, pero whatever happens, life goes on. Ganun talaga, makakabangon ka kahit akala mo katapusan na ng mundo o akala mo eh ikakamatay mo na yung pinagdadaanan mo.

To those in a relationship, never let your partner choose between you and their dreams. Importante pa rin ang individuality niyo kahit na couple kayo. Hindi dapat nakasalalay sa kanya yung happiness mo and vice versa. Allow your jowa to explore and go out of their comfort zones kasi babalik at babalik yan sayo at the end of the day. In this chaotic world, be their peace and anchor lalo na kung achiever at workaholic ang partner."

Hello, Love, Again starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards was one of the biggest movies of 2024 and we still think that it's a must-watch this Valentine's Day. Why? As Marie from Cosmo (not from the movie, LOL) shared, there's just so much you can learn from it—not just about love but about yourself.
