1. Maria Clara at Ibarra
We know that Maria Clara at Ibarra was first released in 2022. However, we're including it in this list as it clearly manifested its impact on the global audience until 2023.
Top-billed by Barbie Forteza, Dennis Trillo, David Licauco and Andrea Torres, the time-traveling historical teleserye captured the hearts of its viewers with its unconventional and interesting take on Philippine history. Maria Clara at Ibarra was set inside Jose Rizal's novels, "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo." Barbie's character, Klay, is a Gen Z nursing student who was transported back in time and inside the novels.
The series gained popularity not just in the Philippines but around the world. It gave the audience a chance to appreciate Philippine history. Netflix acquired rights to the series and is now streaming on the largest OTT platform!

2. Unbreak My Heart
Unbreak My Heart was such a groundbreaking project as it signified the end of network wars between the two Philippine media giants, ABS-CBN and GMA. Unbreak My Heart was the first collaboration of the two media networks together with production house, Dreamscape Entertainment and streaming platform Viu Philippines.
Starring Jodi Sta. Maria, Joshua Garcia, Richard Yap, and Gabbi Garcia, the story tackled a complicated and intense romantic rivalry between Jodi and Gabbi who played mother-daughter in the drama. Both their love interest was Joshua who appeared to be a crazy lover towards the end of the show.

3. Dirty Linen
Dirty Linen was like a gift that keeps on giving during its run. It went viral for the intensity of its script and characters. Fans thought that its lines greatly depicted the society and political landscape in the Philippines.
Dirty Linen is a revenge drama. It focuses on how Janine Gutierrez, Joel Torre, Christian Bables, and Jennica Garcia's characters obtain justice for their loved ones who were killed by the Fieros. The Fieros were portrayed by seasoned actors namely John Arcilla, Tessie Tomas, Janice De Belen, Zanjoe Marudo, Angel Aquino, and Epy Quizon.
New-gen stars, Francine Diaz, Xyriel Manabat, Seth Fedelin, and Raven Rigor also joined the show bringing in praiseworthy scenes.
The revenge-thriller drama topped ratings from its pilot episode up until its finale. This is also when netizens coined the term, "mata-mata school of acting" because of Janine's incredible eye acting during the show.

4. Linlang
Although its run was quite short, Linlang proved to be one of the most unforgettable teleseryes released this year. It gave a compelling and unconventional plot with the protagonist being one of the most annoying characters in the show.
Kim Chiu's role as Juliana in Linlang became one of everyone's enemies because of her acts of infidelity toward her husband in the show, Victor portrayed by Paulo Avelino.
The show also became an avenue for the world to witness up-and-rising actress Kaila Estrada as she portrayed the kind yet fierce wife of JM De Guzman in the show. Kaila got everyone's sympathy with her stellar performance that went viral for weeks!

5. Can't Buy Me Love
The primetime teleserye debut of the new-gen love team DonBelle did not disappoint. Can't Buy Me Love has been a trending show for its stellar cast and impressive storyline.
Top-billed by Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, the two portray opposite characters this time around with Donny as the ordinary and jologs Bingo, while Belle acts as the sophisticated and chic Caroline. The two met in a series of unfortunate and deadly events in Caroline's life.
Something to also note in the series are the comedic acts of both Maris Racal who portrays Caroline's dramatic sister, Irene, and Anthony Jennings' role, Snoop's quirky musings. The series continues to top Netflix charts as we speak!

6. Senior High
Senior High is that series where teen stars are given the chance to ultimately shine. Surely, the whole cast of Senior High is maximizing their potential in this thrilling coming-of-age web series.
The story mainly revolves around how every character is involved in the death of Andrea Brillantes' twin, Luna. Yup, Andrea portrays two characters in the show who are twins, Sky and Luna. Kyle Echarri, Juan Karlos Labajo, Daniela Stranner, and Elijah Canlas are also part of its compelling cast.
Another thing that makes this series stand out is Xyriel Manabat's fiery and laudable scenes. The child star in her certainly woke up and chose to slay! She is paired with fellow child star, Zaijian Jaranilla in the series, and their chemistry is off the charts. However, they encounter a love triangle triggered by another remarkable rookie actor, Miggy Jimenez.
