Bridgerton is gearing up for another season full of romance, glamour, corsets, tea, and most probably (and hopefully...?) lots of steamy sex. But what we're most excited about its fourth (!) season is the addition of Yerin Ha to the stunning list of confirmed cast for the popular regency drama.

In case you're not caught up with Bridgerton: three Bridgertons have already settled down, namely Daphne, Anthony, and the latest being Colin. After three seasons—with the third one split into two parts—we're finally down to Benedict Bridgerton, who's exceptionally played by Luke Thompson. He's the most carefree Bridgerton bachelor, believing that marriage is totally not for him. We've seen him exploring various options, fooling around across seasons, just to avoid the topic of marriage.

Bridgerton's next season will be exploring Julia Quinn's third installment of the novel series, An Offer From A Gentleman. Following the novel, things will unexpectedly turn around for Benedict when he meets the masked lady—Sophie Beckett. As Shondaland continues to bring life to Julia's stories, it doesn't forget its "racially conscious" casting that attempts to establish the premise of Bridgerton's high society. (Well, it's still up for discussion if their attempts so far are not in vain.)

Still, this time around, Collider reported that Netflix were looking to cast an "East Asian female" who can portray the "plucky, endlessly resourceful, and has trouble trusting others" character of Sophie Beckett—not to mention the actress' openness for nudity (which seems to be the norm now for Bridgerton). The Hollywood Reporter detailed that because of the casting criteria, Sophie's last name was changed to Baek, as per Yerin's suggestion too!

Regardless of the transformation from Beckett to Baek, the story would still be the same as the novel's. Yup, still with the evil stepmother, Araminta, and obnoxious step-sisters Posy and Rosamund—the classic Cinderella-like plot.

Anyway, we're sure we'll get more details about Bridgerton's next season soon. What's more urgent for us right now is to get to know Yerin Ha. This week, the actress was officially introduced by Netflix, and the ton is extremely brimming with curiosity. Below, let's get to know the actress giving life to our next favorite Bridgerton in-law ;)

Who Is Yerin Ha?

1. Yerin Ha was born in Australia.

Yerin Ha is a '95 liner and is a daughter to both South Korean parents. But she was born in Australia, hence the ~sweet and disarming~ Australian accent that we'll probably hear more in the next season.

2. Yerin Ha got a full bachelor's degree in acting.

The 29-year-old actress may look like a rookie to us, 'coz NGL, Bridgerton might be the first project of hers that we'll be watching. But this girl actually obtained her bachelor's degree in acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. And she majored in Musical Theater!

In an article by Vogue Australia, "[The 2018 graduate class] was the first year that really [reflected] representation of society," she says of her time at NIDA. "We had someone who has cerebral palsy, a non-binary transgender person, an Aboriginal person—real people we see in society today."

3. She also studied acting in South Korea.

Before Yerin tried her luck as a theater actress, she also trained as an actress in Seoul at 15 years old. She was admitted to Kaywon High School of Arts.

5. One of her biggest works at the moment is a Steven Spielberg project.

Following Reef Break, Yerin was cast as Kwan Ha in Halo. The sci-fi series was said to be a legacy of the famous American filmmaker, Steven Spielberg. Her stellar performance led her to more casting calls in the crime-thriller Troppo and a mini-drama series Bad Behavior.

She'll soon be gracing the small screen with another sci-fi TV series called, Dune: Prophecy. The series is slated to be released this November 2024.

6. Bridgerton is like a breath of fresh air for Yerin's acting filmography.

So far, Yerin has been starring in action projects, and with Bridgerton, Yerin is totally up for a completely new challenge. Netflix's Tudum describes Sophie Baek as a "captivating and complicated woman." She illustrated how her Bridgerton character would often play with the notion of wearing a mask, both literally and figuratively.

She told Netflix's Tudum, "There's this theme with masks that was running throughout all of my audition scenes. When does Sophie put on this mask to cover her emotions? Or vice versa, when does she take it off and when does she soften up?"

Well, we're surely excited to know more about Sophie's mask and how it will all work out between her and our dashing Benedict Bridgerton.
