Days after announcing her breakup with erstwhile fiance Jon Semira, actress Yassi Pressman finally broke her silence about her connection with Camarines Sur Governor Luigi Villafuerte.
In an interview on GMA News' 24 Oras, Yassi admitted spending more time with Luigi, who has been her friend for many years now.
"Me and Luigi have known each other for a very long time. Parang 10 years na kaming magkakilala. So now we're just spending more time together and getting to know each other more," Yassi explained.
Earlier this month, the two have been spotted in a couple of photos that piqued netizens' attention. One of which was a photo where Luigi's hand can be seen placed on Yassi's leg.
Yassi and her ex-boyfriend Jon Semira announced their split in a message posted via Instagram on August 16, 2023. They revealed that they have been "separated for quite some time now."
In her 24 Oras interview, the actress reiterated her desire to keep things private when it comes to her past relationship. She also mentioned that she is still on good terms with her former beau.
"Bilang tao, meron pa rin pong mga bagay na we wanted to keep private pero okay lang. Me and the people involved, lahat kami maayos. Nag-uusap pa rin kami hanggang ngayon," Yassi said.
Earlier this month, a video showing Yassi and Jon's engagement circulated online. The video resulted in various speculations about the true cause of their split, but Jon clarified that no "third party" was involved.
Yassi slightly remarked about her perspective throughout their breakup and said, "Kahit na you show up to work all the time, and you're happy, and you're ready, inside meron pa rin pong mga pinagdadaanan kasi po lahat naman tayo mga tao lang. So we try to show up every day."
Yassi is currently filming for her upcoming GMA teleserye with Ruru Madrid, Black Rider.
