Yassi Pressman has always been a proud “daddy’s girl,” often referring to her father as her best friend who supported her through every milestone. So when her dad passed away two years ago, the actress admits that she felt “lost” as she struggled with her emotional and mental health.

“I guess I always thought that I was a strong woman before. That was the moment talaga na na-rattle ako, na hindi pala ako ganun ka-strong, hindi ko pala kaya,” she confessed in her interview with renowned journalist Karen Davila.

Being the breadwinner of her family meant filming until sunrise and stepping into a role despite dealing with personal problems. The stress and exhaustion got to a point where Yassi felt like she “was having a stroke.”

"It got to a point where I felt like I was having a stroke because of stress and tension from within. It [started] on my stomach, then nag-cramps yung legs ko, hindi ko magalaw yung fingers ko. Halos naninigas [yung] half of my face,” she shares.

Nung nawala siya parang I didn’t know who I was, how I would move forward, kung paano ko maitutuloy yung ginagawa ko before for the family, because he was my purpose.”

Her struggle with mental health became her inspiration to establish and invest in Mind You, a company that offers mental health services aiming to help a million Filipinos by 2025.

“It was a risk that I wanted to take for the mission,” she says. “Kung meron pong kahit konti lang na magawa 'yung perang naipon ko, na maibalik ko naman sa ibang tao, that already means so much to me because I am so blessed and I am so lucky na bakit ako 'yung binigyan ng ganitong pagkakataon to work and provide.”
