While the pandemic has canceled several events, film festivals from all over the world are keeping the cinema community stronger than ever. We Are One: A Global Film Festival is a 10-day streaming event that will feature releases from world film festivals like Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca, Toronto, Berlin, Venice, and a whole lot more.
Organized by YouTube and Tribeca Enterprises, the online film fest will run from May 29 to June 7 on the official festival channel. Oh, and did we mention that you can easily stream everything for free?
Each festival has curated a lineup which will be revealed in the coming weeks. These will range from films, documentaries, music, and panel discussions that were originally slated for release at the actual festival events. But as circumstances would have it, we’re about to watch them online and in the comforts of our own home. Talk about a world cinema experience!
Aside from streaming, part of We Are One’s goal is to raise funds for the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 response efforts. The film fest will also give the spotlight to filmmakers and content creators by helping them promote their new material to the public. Consider it as a great move to support artists from all over the world.
