A new Netflix original dystopian series just dropped last May 12 and we can’t get enough of it! With only six episodes — each being less than an hour — this webtoon-turned-drama will surely have you glued to your seats, and you might even finish them all in one sitting. As avid K-drama fans, we’re sure you’re now trying to remember which series you’ve seen some of the cast members in before. We’re here to help you with that. *winks*

Here are the Black Knight cast members and their past projects:

1. Kim Woo Bin as 5-8

5-8 is considered to be the best among the deliverymen. He is truly unbeatable with his great physique, unmatched fighting skills, and immense strength. His toughness because of the rage he feels due to his past experience as a refugee might have you overlook how thoughtful and caring he is to his fellow deliverymen and the refugees, not to mention how he looks after Sa Wol when he is training to become one.

Our OG K-drama crush Kim Woo Bin is back with some action-packed scenes in this drama. His fierce eyes that show no mercy as he pulls the trigger add the right emotion to his role. Some of his notable dramas are Uncontrollably Fond, The Heirs, Our Blues, and The Con Artists. Fun fact: Kim Woo Bin and Esom already worked together in the 2011 TV series White Christmas!

2. Kang You Seok as Yoon Sa Wol

Just like most of the refugees, Sa Wol also dreams of becoming a deliveryman. When the opportunity comes, he doesn't let the chance slip away and trains nonstop to surpass the many who registered. His fighting style is slow at first, but his blind confidence is the good thing that gets him far.

This is my first Kang Yoo Seok drama and I must admit that I'm impressed with how he portrayed his role as Yoon Sa Wol! He gave justice to every scene. He debuted in 2018 with the movie The Hymn Of Death, and since then has appeared in a few drama series such as Melting Me Softly, Dr. Romantic 2, and Start-Up.

3. Esom as Jung Seol Ah

Major Seol Ah of the Defense Intelligence Command may be strict, but she also looks after her subordinates well. She rescued Sa Wol during one of their operations and has kept him inside her home even though it's against the rules. Major Seol Ah and 5-8 eventually work together to solve the numerous kidnapping cases of individuals around the same age as her sister, Seul Ah, and Sa Wol.

Esom has climbed to the top of my female K-actresses list after I watched her in Kill Boksoon. Here in Black Knight, I was able to witness her versatility in acting because of her action scenes. She became known for her roles in Microhabitat, Taxi Driver, Inseparable Bros, and Because This Is My First Life.

4. Song Seung Heon as Ryu Seok

CEO of Cheonmyeong Group Ryu Seok is the son of the chairman and aims to eradicate all the refugees, so that the relocation project will only cater to the people who have the QR codes imprinted on the back of their hands. He believes that oxygen is such a scarce resource that it should only be given to the worthy.

There is no doubt that Song Seung Heon’s features fit playing a rich, ambitious character in this drama. He became popular after being cast in movies such as Obsessed (where he was paired with The Glory antagonist Lim Ji Yeon), The Third Way Of Love, and Man Of Will. He has also acted in TV dramas like East Of Eden, Autumn In My Heart, and My Princess.

5. Roh Yoon Seo as Jung Seul Ah

Jung Seul Ah is Major Jung Seol Ah’s younger sister and looks after Yoon Sa Wol at home. She lives the life of a typical teenager; however, an unfortunate incident involving her makes Sa Wol’s desire to become a deliveryman stronger. Roh Yoon Seo played memorable roles in 20th Century Girl, Our Blues, and won the Best New Actress for Drama for Crash Course In Romance at the 2023 Baeksang Arts Awards.
