Warning: Spoilers ahead!
The third season of medical drama Dr. Romantic lives up to the hype. Fueled by a script that has a lot of heart, the series continues to score stellar ratings satisfying new and long-time viewers alike. The drama is anchored on the lives of Dr. Kim Sa Bu (Han Suk Kyu) and the doctors and staff of Doldam, a small hospital in Gangwon Province, South Korea.
The ongoing series, which airs on Fridays and Saturdays, introduces us to new characters and gives us the inside scoop on how relationships have fared between those we’ve met in its previous seasons. Moreover, it gives us a deeper understanding of Dr. Kim as he pushes and tests his ideals while navigating his way through the harsh realities that face Doldam Hospital and its newly built Regional Trauma Center.
Here are six quotes from Dr. Romantic's Doctor Kim that will win you over:
1. "Even on the battlefield, it’s human nature to treat the injured, no matter what side they are from." (Episode 1)

2. "Oftentimes, between ethics and reality, what is right and the solution is hard to balance." (Episode 2)
A political ultimatum trumps Dr. Kim’s efforts to save the injured North Koreans. As he looks at the empty beds where they once lay, he is joined by his talented protege, Seo Woo Jin (Ahn Hyo Seop). Woo Jin asks his mentor if it was right for them to send the North Koreans back. Dr. Kim responds (as if trying to also convince himself) by saying that it was enough that they did their best as doctors. His facial expressions hint that letting the injured go was a bitter pill to swallow.

3. "Effort and dedication should be left behind the moment you’ve given them. If you hope for some kind of payment or demand recognition for your input, things will quickly turn into a muddy mess." (Episode 3)

4. "There are only two types of doctors in the operating room: one who wants to save the patient and one who wants to learn. If you’re not one of them, you shouldn’t pick up a knife and stand at the operating table."(Episode 4)
Unable to further contain his frustration over his unruly and irresponsible behavior, Dr. Kim confronts Dr. Jang Dong Hwa (Lee Sin Young). These words show the value and commitment that Dr. Kim puts into his role as a doctor. It reminds us to take our jobs seriously regardless of what they may be.

5. "A doctor, as soon as he puts on his surgical gown, must not discriminate against any patient. All patients should be treated equally and fairly." (Episode 4)
Dr. Kim sheds light on Dr. Jang’s perspective of seeing a star athlete as a patient to prioritize over an old lady accused of committing arson. Just like any profession anchored on public service, being a doctor isn’t about power or prestige. It’s about being there for people who need your help regardless of who they are.

6. "Don’t give up. In the end, a person’s will is what makes a miracle." (Episode 4)
Dr. Kim consoles the father of an athlete who suffered a traumatic ski accident with these words of hope. Applicable to any situation in life, Dr. Kim’s take on miracles is beautiful. Void of religious and supernatural angles, it puts so much faith on the human will to survive. It can even be applied to how sheer will can make our dreams come true.
