Heol, Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung are starring in their very first fantasy drama together! Yup, you read that right, the two Korean actors with undeniably perfect visuals are all set to make us swoon over their chemistry. Their drama My Demon will be airing its pilot episode on Friday, November 24, 2023.
As K-drama lovers—this writer is a Songpyeon, a.k.a Song Kang's fan—we're incredibly hyped for My Demon. Buckle up because we're sharing all the details about the much-awaited fantasy drama (of the year, claiming it!).

1. My Demon has the trope that we all love: a contract marriage story.
Aside from being a fantasy drama, My Demon will introduce to us the story of a human and a demon marrying each other for convenience. Song Kang, who plays the demon named Jeong Guwon, will get married to Kim Yoo Jung's human character Do Dohee.

2. Song Kang is a stylish demon.
If you're thinking about his character in Sweet Home (which will also have its second season this year!), you've got it all wrong. Jeong Guwon appears to be a cold, sassy, and definitely stylish demon. He looks fierce and deadly, but deep inside there's a heart that only Do Dohee can touch.
Guwon takes pride in his strong demonic powers—until he meets Dohee. Like a fallen angel, he loses his abilities for some unknown reason. But he becomes powerful and can also replenish his demon energy whenever he's around Dohee.
3. Kim Yoo Jung is in her girl-boss era!
Kim Yoo Jung's character Dohee is a feisty and workaholic CEO. In one of the drama's official trailers, Dohee was described as a "woman married to her job." That all changes when she meets the sexy Guwon—who happens to save her from drowning!
Dohee gets entangled with Guwon when he loses his abilities; they find out that his powers were transferred to Dohee. With so much going on between them, it's exciting to see how Dohee will resist Guwon's charm as a demon—and as her (contractual) husband!
4. Jeong Guwon has been alive for 200 years already.
According to a character profile by the SBS Network, Guwon has been serving as a chairman of the Sunwol Foundation. He has been changing his name from generation to generation to avoid discovery. And not once in his 200 years did he wish to get married. His only desire is to live forever while looking handsome!
5. Lee Sangyi and Kim Hae Sook are also part of the drama.
Lee Sangyi from Hometown Cha Cha Cha joins the cast as businessman Joo Seok Hoon. He's also Dohee's reliable friend in the drama. Would he be Guwon's rival? Maybe!
Meanwhile, veteran Korean actress Kim Hae Sook is a strong, eccentric, and religious businesswoman. But there's something that she's hiding from Dohee, which we'll eventually find out.
6. My Demon is serving us quirkiness and absolute ~*slayage.*~
The official trailer is oozing with romance, fantasy, and intense quirky energy. Yoo Jung has already shown us her comedic side through her Backstreet Rookie character. This year, she shows a different version of funny Yoo Jung as a CEO who has unconventional takes on the people around her.
Song Kang, who is deemed to be one of the industry's rising K-actors, has been showing his strong presence and steady growth in the industry. After potraying a ballerina, a weatherman, a red-flag kind of guy, and a special infectee monster in his past dramas, it appears that My Demon will be the first drama where he'll be showing more of his comedic side.
Based on the trailers, Kang's character Guwon will be an annoying yet charming demon when interacting with Dohee.
According to a Korean news article, Kang decided to star in My Demon precisely because it is a romantic comedy-drama. "I was interested in the romantic comedy genre, which I had never tried before, and the more I read the script, the more attractive the content and the character’s lines became," he noted.
7. Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang are a perfect pair.
They've got the charisma and the chemistry as a lead couple, you guys. They are serving us with their looks and their jealousy-inducing connection.
Fun fact: Song Kang had his very first couple photoshoot with none other than Yoo Jung! On November 21, a Korean magazine released photos of their joint feature and the two look like fallen angels who are about to conquer us.
8. My Demon just finished filming!
On November 20, Korean media outlets shared photos and videos from My Demon's wrap-up party. ICDYK, production wrap-up parties are famous in Korea. It is when the whole team—from producers to cameramen to stylists to actors and more—all gather to celebrate everyone's hard work. Wrap-up parties are usually done over dinner.
9. New Jeans sang one of My Demon's official soundtracks.
My Demon also has an impressive lineup for its OST (official soundtrack). The artists who sang on the tracklist include DAWN, Winter of Aespa, 10CM, Sam Kim, Davichi, Roy Kim, YOARI, and New Jeans. Reportedly, New Jeans is set to release the first OST on Friday, November 24, titled "Our Night Is More Beautiful Than Your Day."
10. Song Kang is known as Netflix's son.
You've probably heard that Kang is Netflix's son. It's because most of his representative works were released on the streaming platform. From Love Alarm to Navillera to the popular Sweet Home, you can find everything on Netflix.
And of course, My Demon will be aired on November 24, 2023, on Netflix! It will air one episode every Friday and Saturday, at exactly 10PM KST or 9PM Philippine time.
