The confirmed projects are a fresh mix of genres from rom-com K-dramas, to dating shows, to reality shows, and of course our favorite thriller films.

Story: Badland Hunters is an apocalyptic action film set three years after a massive and bizarre earthquake struck Seoul, South Korea. The earthquake caused law and order to vanish among its citizens. People currently experience a scarcity of clean water and food, and the threat of rogue gangs raiding each town left and right.

The plot thickens when Han Su Na (Roh Jeong Eui) gets scammed by a mad doctor who has been conducting deadly experiments on humans. Nam San (Don Lee) and Choi Ji Wan (Lee Jun Young) go on a quest to save Su Na before it's too late.

Story: Song Joong Ki returns with another heart-wrenching film. Based on Cho Haejin's novel I Met Loh Kiwan, Joong Ki will portray the title character—a defector from North Korea. He reaches Belgium because of his late mother, who longed to start a new life. He will later on struggle to obtain his refugee status in the foreign country. Amid finding the strength to survive each passing day, Loh Ki Wan meets Marie (Choi Seung Eun) who has lost all hope after her mother died. Together, they will find comfort in each other.

A Killer Paradox

Story: A Killer Paradox is an 8-episode dark comedy thriller series that revolves around the story of Lee Tang (Woo Shik) who accidentally kills a couple of serial killers. He will later on think that he has the ability to "suppress evil" and to "give justice" to the victims of these serial killers by killing them one by one.

However, two cops—Jang Nan Gam (Suk Ku) and Song Chon (Hee Joon)—who had a serious history together will be running after Tang. The story, directed by Strangers From Hell director Lee Chang Hee, poses the question: Is killing justified when you're doing it for the so-called "social good"?

Captivating The King

Story: Captivating the King is a 16-episode historical romance drama set in the Joseon era. The drama will tackle the story of the king of Joseon, Yi In (Jo Jung Suk) who will be reunited with a baduk player, Kang Hee Soo (Shin Se Kyung). Little did Yi In know that Hee Soo is a secret agent, bound to take revenge on the throne.  Entangled with hatred and political crisis, the two will seek to strike a balance as they fall in love with each other.

Story: Chicken Nugget is based on the webtoon Dak Gang Geong. Netflix's sneak peek at the K-drama made waves online because of what appears to be an interesting yet bizarre story.

Story: Doctor Slump will be airing 20 episodes of pure rom-com and heartwarming scenes by its cast. The Korean drama is Shin Hye and Hyung Sik's small-screen reunion after starring together in the iconic K-drama The Heirs back in 2013.

This 2024, the two seasoned K-actors are set to make our hearts flutter, laugh, and cry with their undeniable chemistry. They will act as overachieving students who worked hard to be the best doctors in their fields, only to find themselves together in their most vulnerable states, a.k.a. their slump. Together they will navigate through trying times and find what really matters in life.

Story: Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won are back to sway our hearts in their rom-com eras. They will be portraying the characters Baek Hyun Woo and Hong Hae In, respectively. Hae In is a chaebol heiress with a bold personality who is married to Hyun Woo, the legal director of their company. Despite having different economic statuses, the two navigate through their challenges as a married couple. (Fun fact: Queen of Tears is written by Crash Landing on You writer Park Ji Eun)

Story: This one's for the Hospital Playlist fans out there (like me)! Resident Playbook (working title) will be a spin-off to the hit K-drama Hospital Playlist. Its story will revolve around the lives of medical residents at the OB-GYN department as they try to survive being doctors at Jongno Yulje Medical Center.

Korean news outlet Soompi reported that directors Shin Won Ho and Lee Woo Jung (who have created classic K-dramas including the Reply series) will be joining the production team of Resident Playbook. 

Hospital Playlist's official Instagram page posted a teaser for the return of the Yulje Medical Center in the first half of 2024.
