Some Korean food reminds us of our local dishes—just like japchae which is a sweeter version of sotanghon and kimchi jigae which is a bit similar to sinigang. But there's a Korean snack that's *exactly* the same as a Pinoy staple and it's probably in your kitchen right now!

When you cook rice on a stovetop, the bottom part becomes scorched most of the time. Koreans call it nurungji and they love snacking on the golden brown rice crust mainly because of its crispy and crunchy texture. For some, sprinkling sugar on it is a must!

Nurungji can also be an alternative to chips in case you want something ~healthier.~ It's also soooooo easy to make: Just cook your rice the way you usually do and let it simmer for another 10 minutes until the bottom part gets burnt. You can use leftover rice, too, and just toast it in a pan.
