We're ending the week with some sad news. South Korean singer Park Bo Ram has passed away at the age of 30.
Her agency, XANADU Entertainment, confirmed the reports on April 12, 2024. According to their statement, Bo Ram died on the evening of April 11th.
"It’s true that Park Bo Ram died on April 11. The cause of death is currently being investigated by the police," their statement read. Quoting Namyangju Police Station, the Korean news outlet, AllKpop reported that the late singer was found unconscious by her friends during a private gathering that night.
The agency also conveyed that fellow artists are grieving Bo Ram's sudden demise. With the turn of events, XANADU Entertainment pleaded with the public and the media to avoid making "speculative reports" since the police are still investigating her death.
"We earnestly ask that you refrain from making speculative reports so that the grieving family and colleagues can commemorate the deceased. Funeral procedures will be held after consultation with the bereaved family. Once again, we send our deepest condolences to the deceased on her final journey," the agency said.

Park Bo Ram's singing career
Bo Ram made her official debut with the song "Beautiful" in 2014. Her debut followed her astounding performance in the talent show Superstar K2 in 2010.
Later in her career, she grew more prominence after singing the nostalgic official soundtrack (OST) for the hit Korean drama Reply 1988. ICYDK, Bo Ram was the one who sang "Hyehwadong." It was the iconic song we would usually hear when there was an emotional scene in Reply 1988.

She also sang the OST for W: Two Worlds called "Please say something, even though it is a lie," and another one for Prison Playbook titled, "Like A Dream."
Reports stated that Bo Ram was preparing for a comeback for her 10th-anniversary debut this year.
