2NE1 is finally making a comeback and everyone is so stoked about it! Of course, the girl group is known to be one of the OG K-pop sensations that caused international fans to grow closer to the Hallyu wave.

On July 21, 2024, YG Entertainment posted a photo for the four-member girl group, namely, Bom, CL, Minzy, and Dara. They captioned their post with, "Welcome back, 2ne1." It was enough for all the Blackjack a.k.a. 2NE1's fans to rejoice.

What solidified the announcement was Yang Hyun Suk's video announcement. Yang is the founder and one of the big bosses of YG Entertainment. At present, he is mostly focused on the branding and music of the K-pop agency. YG is home to other K-pop groups like BLACKPINK, WINNER, and BABYMONSTER.

The video included several confirmations of which YG artists are going to make their grand comebacks under the company one of which is 2NE1. Producer Yang mentioned that 2NE1 is their "first-ever successful girl group" and that's why they have lots in store for the group and their fans.

"I'd like to share in this interview that the first successful YG female group was 2NE1. The members of 2NE1 told me that they’d like to hold a concert commemorating their 15th anniversary. So we caught up and happily discussed making it all happen within this year," Yang said in the video uploaded to YG's YouTube channel.

Dara Reacts To 2NE1 Comeback

Everyone's looking forward to the comeback—including the members, of course. Dara, also popularly known as Sandara Park in the Philippines, is one of the members who's been very expressive about the news over on social media.

She has been actively responding to Blackjacks, sharing her giddiness about the comeback. One of the fans tagged her and asked if they could include the Philippines as part of the group's upcoming global tour.

The fan wrote, "Ati sana included Philippines sa concert niyo sa 2025." Dara who seemed a bit hesitant but still hopeful responded with, "Marami pa bang PH Blackjacks? That is my wish siyempre [praying emoji]."

There's one comment from Dara that caught our attention, though. One fan unprecedentedly mentioned so-called friends who acted like they didn't know Dara when 2NE1 disbanded in 2016.

The post read (as published), "Wag na wag lang bumalik-balik yung mga ex-friends ni Ati na biglang hindi na siya kilala when 2ne1 disbanded. Baka mamalimos ng tickets sayo @krungy21. parang awa i-WHO YOU mo sila. Alam kong mabait ka pero di nila deserve ng kahit anong favor from you."

There were no names mentioned in the post but it meant so much, especially to OG fans who were there through the ups and downs of the girl group. What made the fan's statement stand out all the more was Dara's reply to it. "Exactly," she said.

It was a one-word reply by it gave a solid confirmation that there really are people out there who seem to have cut ties with her when the girl group slowly faded away from the limelight. It's a sad reality, but we know Dara will have a great time coming back with her OG 2NE1 girlies and fans.

2NE1 members commemorated their 15th-year debut anniversary last May 16, 2024, with matching group photos uploaded on their respective IG accounts. Leader CL posted a message in both Korean and English. "2NE1 has always been my house that made me feel the freedom to love, to play, to express , to create , to shine , to mix, to connect and share with people. Hope today 2NE1 reminds you to feel your light ::) Thank you alwayz [cherry emoji NOLZA."
