Kim Sejeong can do it all (she can sing, act, and dance) and we witnessed firsthand last October 1 that she is REALLY *God Sejeong*! But more than being a total performer, Sejeongie has an unmatched charm that can make anyone smile and feel happy in an instant—us included.
We loved everything about her first solo concert The Door in Manila, but here are the highlights we can’t stop thinking about:
1. When the ~*whimsical*~ designs were flashed on the LED screen.
Before Kim Sejeong went up on stage, a whale was shown in the background which signaled the first song of the same name in her setlist. The way it swam through the screen was so entrancing that you could see everyone having stars in their eyes! All throughout the concert, the LED designs were visually pleasing and you couldn’t help but admire them, just like when she sang “Flower Way.”
Fun fact: “Flower Way” is an ode to Sejeong’s mom, who raised her and her brother on her own. In an interview, the artist mentioned that she dreams of buying two houses on Jeju Island—she would like to have one rented, while the other is where she can live with her eomma. Aww!
2. When Kim Sejeong greeted PH Sesangs with a “Good evening!” in Filipino.
Even before she started her first ment, the crowd screamed so loud and Sejeong was amazed by this! She greeted everyone with an adorable “Magandang gabi!” and thanked PH Sesangs for giving her a warm welcome. "The fans are so passionate in cheering. It's my first concert here and your energy and love are above the level. I've been here before with my gugudan members and I know how passionate you are,” she said.
3. When she appeared on stage clad in princess-like outfits.
You guys, she’s a Disney princess fr fr! Sejeong wore two dresses and each complimented her performance: The white ensemble was a perfect match to her soulful tracks, while the green one gave off such feel-good vibes when she performed her bops.
4. When Kim Sejeong sang her best ballads.
There’s just something so distinct about Sejeong’s voice that you can easily tell it’s her even if your eyes are closed. During the Manila leg of her first solo concert, the Hallyu star serenaded the crowd with her sentimental songs such as “Indigo Promise,” “Plant” (we were teary-eyed during this part, huhu), and “Sea Of Hope.”
P.S: Sejeong shared that she enjoys writing songs at night. ICYDK, is also a multi-talented songwriter!
5. When she performed her K-drama OSTs.
NGL, this was the part that had us singing at the top of our lungs! Kim Sejeong brought the feels when she sang the following K-drama original soundtracks (OSTs): "All Of My Days" (Crash Landing On You), "If Only" (Legend Of The Blue Sea), "Meet Again," (The Uncanny Counter), and of course, the Business Proposal OST that made us all kilig, "Love, Maybe." Everybody sing: ~Igeon nuga bwado sarangil tende~
6. When Kim Sejeong interacted with her Filipino fans.
PH Sesangs were lucky to have sooooooo many heartwarming interactions with Sejeongie. She *personally* picked some fans and asked what pose they would like her to do onstage, had them join her in some songs, and she even went down on stage to get closer to them! You read that right—she walked around the New Frontier Theater and took photos with PH Sesangs + completed their heart hand signs. UNREAL!
