Shocking news for CaratLand today. SEVENTEEN's home agency, Pledis Entertainment, officially announced Jeonghan and Jun's absence from the group's remaining schedules within the year due to military obligations and other career goals.

On August 12, 2024, an official statement was posted on the K-pop platform, WeVerse. Pledis has confirmed that Jeonghan will be starting his mandatory military enlistment during the latter half of 2024, thus he will not be able to participate in the K-pop boy group's upcoming world tour, "SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR."

Pledis clarified that Jeonghan will still be participating in some fan signing events and their upcoming Lollapalooza Berlin appearance from September 7 to 8, 2024. Pledis stated, "Jeonghan is due to fulfill his military obligation in the second half of 2024. While Jeonghan filmed most of the content he could in advance, he will not be able to participate in promotional activities for the 12th mini album and the 'SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR' scheduled to start in October."

Meanwhile, Jun will be focusing more on his pursuit as an actor in his homeland, China. This decision means that he will not be able to attend Lollapalooza Berlin and their music show performances for their comeback soon.

"After thorough discussions with Jun and the other members of SEVENTEEN, we have decided that Jun will pursue acting and other opportunities in China during the latter half of this year. Like Jeonghan, Jun has completed filming for content that could be prepared in advance. However, due to an overlap with the on-location filming schedule, Jun will not be able to participate in Lollapalooza Berlin, music show performances for the 12th mini album, and the SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR," the statement explained.

SEVENTEEN is a 13-member boy group known for their hits, "Don't Wanna Cry," Aju Nice," "Pretty U," "Rock With You," and more. The group made its debut in 2015 and is now on its way to being a decade-old K-pop group. Since their debut, they have been going on tours around the world.

Their recent visit to the Philippines was for their concert, "FOLLOW Tour." It was held at the Philippine Arena outdoor stadium last January 13-14th.

SEVENTEEN members' military enlistment

Jeonghan, who will be turning 30 years old this year in Korean age, will be the first member to fulfill his military enlistment among SEVENTEEN. It was earlier announced that their leader, S. Coups, has been exempted from the military due to his current medical condition.

"Due to a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee joint, S.Coups underwent anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery and anterolateral ligament reconstruction surgery. Because it was a major surgery, he has been undergoing physical rehabilitation therapy for a long time, starting from last year up until now," the official statement on S.Coup's military exemption read.
