If you’re keeping up with Andi Eigenmann either on Instagram or her Happy Islanders YouTube channel, then you probably know that the celebrity mom-of-three is seriously dedicated to keeping her body fit and healthy. Just last month, she shared the results of her two-year postpartum fitness routine, wowing netizens with her toned body!

In a recent Instagram post, she revealed one secret to maintaining such amazing physique. “Finally got around to answering probably one of the most frequently asked questions I get on here... WHAT I EAT IN A DAY!! Here's a general idea of the food I eat to stay in my current (for the lack of a better term) body type. I eat what I want, without being reckless,” she wrote, dismantling the notion of sticking with a specific type of diet in order to lose weight.

“I lean towards the healthier options, but I still give in to my cravings, even if they are ‘junk.’ This is how I'm able to go about my fitness journey in a sustainable way. I'm in the hopes of becoming a certified nutritionist one day, and in everything I have learned so far, a good tip to know what meals to lean towards: Eat the rainbow! Plus carbs are not the enemy! It's important that we don't leave out certain food groups because they all serve for something.”

She shared that her food choices certainly resulted in happier eating habits. “Constantly making better choices with the food I eat, eventually led me to actually enjoying this type of food way more, and if you are loving the journey, you will be glad to stay on track!”

Andi stressed that her progress didn’t happen overnight. “I get a lot of comments saying I lost weight so fast, but it actually took me two years to lose 60lbs! I feel like it seemed like it flew by so quickly because I put a limit and set new goals each time. This way, it didn't feel like I was doing it forever, resulting in feeling like a failure. For example, now I am just maintaining the body Im currently in.

She also makes adjustments here and there. “When I was losing the weight, my meals didn’t look like this. (Although still as hearty and filling! I’ll share specifics when I feel challenged to go at it again!) but I’ll only be cutting for maybe 2 weeks at a time. Listening to my body, and not torturing it, is why I don’t end up "binge eating all the weight back"—the most common side effect of diet trends.”

Lastly, Andi explained that her whole fitness journey is a “holistic” process, and it’s not just about the calories she consumes. “My approach on this whole fitness journey is holistic, in such a way that all aspects of my well-being go hand-in-hand. So while we now know that ‘losing the weight’ is mostly about food, it will definitely work way more if you're entire lifestyle goes with it. Good exercise and a great mindset to go along with it should do the trick!”
