Forbes just dropped its annual rich list—and our jaws are on the floor.
The global media company just named 200 billionaires and tagged them as the wealthiest people on Earth. "They're richer than ever," as stated in Forbes' report. According to the brand, there are actually 2,781 billionaires around the globe, and two-thirds of the list have grown richer than they were a year ago.
The top 20 personalities on their list have a combined $700 billion (P39,470,900,000,000 — yes, 39 trillion pesos) in wealth. Forbes also revealed that billionaires hailing from the United States of America total 813 individuals with a combined wealth of $5.7 trillion (P321,405,900,000,000 or 321 trillion pesos).
Following them on the list are China and India who ranked second and third, respectively. Interestingly though, 15 billionaires made it to the Forbes list, and one of them ranked on the 190th spot.
Who are the 15 Filipino billionaires in 2024 according to Forbes?
The wealthiest of all the Filipino billionaires this year is Manuel "Manny" Villar. The Former politician and businessman entered the Forbes Global 200 billionaires list with a net worth of $11 billion (P620,196,500,000 or P620 billion). His businesses currently include real estate and commerce that venture to 10 shopping malls.
Following on the list is Enrique Razon who is the current chairman of the International Container Terminal Services, Inc., the Philippine port-handling giant.
