Air fryers are all the rage right now. Part of its appeal is how ~easy~ and ~convenient~ the appliance is to use when it comes to whipping up something in the kitchen.

But Chef Alexis deBoschnek of Chef Out Of Water proves that it takes some getting used to. If you've never used an air fryer before, you have to play around with the presets, especially when cooking more complicated dishes (read: food that's harder than french fries).

In this episode, she was tasked to make a three-course meal with *only* an air fryer: shrimp sliders for the appetizer, ribs and corn pudding for the main course, and cherry torte for dessert.

And even this awesome chef experienced a few hiccups. It took a few tries for the corn pudding to cook all the way through. The appetizer, which was originally supposed to be po'boy sliders, was also a struggle because it wouldn't turn crispy in the air fryer.

In the end, though, like a true champ, Chef Alexis salvaged her courses, and I still very much want my own air fryer—even if it takes a couple rounds of trial and error to get the perfect dishes.
