It's nearly a year since the Philippines fell under quarantine, so it's only normal to want a change of scenery. If you want to unwind and avoid crowded cities at the same time, you can opt to go out of town. In Pampanga, you can check out Café Rooftop, an #aesthetic rooftop café that serves a mix of classics and trendy food and drinks.
If there's anything to be said about Café Rooftop, it's that it's 101 percent Instagrammable, especially at sunset. Since it's located on a rooftop, you get an amazing view of the sky, plus Mt. Arayat.
If you have a sweet tooth, you'll definitely enjoy all the desserts and pastries Café Rooftop has on the menu. They have silvanas, ube custard, and a wide selection of cakes— including Ube Macapuno Cake, Tiramisu Ferrero, and Dark Mocha Sansrival—and classics like Sansrival and Red Velvet.
Besides the newly-launched Calamansi Pie, they have different types of cheesecakes, too: Burnt Basque Cheesecake, Salted Caramel Cheesecake, a Triple Choco Cheesecake (which has three layers of cake), Raspberry New York Cheesecake, and Cheesecake-In-A-Jar that comes in blueberry, matcha Oreo, and salted caramel flavors.
If you're going there to catch up with friends, one of the dishes that are good for sharing is the Signature Rooftop. It's a ginormous platter with plated fresh fruits like watermelon, mangoes, grapes, oranges, and kiwi on one side, then the other side has pika-pika or pang-pulutan: grilled skewers, fries, and other fried meat.
For the drinks, Café Rooftop has Caramel Macchiato, Latte, Frozen Lemonade, and Snow Grape, which are served in double-walled glasses. But if you want to get a little buzzed, they also have alcoholic beverages like beer towers, soju, and cocktails!
As of February 27, Café Rooftop is open from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. every day. It's located at 216 Fil-Am Friendship Highway, Angeles, Pampanga.
