Okay, it’s safe to say that Steve Harvey isn’t exactly having the best day of his life right now. The Miss Universe 2015 host goofed up by mistakenly announcing Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez Arevalo as the winner of the beauty pageant...when, of course, it was actually Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach.
His reward? MEMES. TONS AND TONS OF MEMES.

Poor guy. How do you actually come back from something like that?
Eli Karam, PhD, a therapist at the University of Louisville, may have the answer. Acknowledge your role in what happened, express your regret, and finally voice your commitment to avoid a repeat, he tells Men’s Health US. And don’t try to weasel your way out of the apology by offering a qualifier. “Phrases like ‘I’m sorry if’ or ‘I’m sorry but’ project blame rather than convey remorse,” he continues.
To Harvey and the Miss Universe committee's eternal credit, their apologies definitely met Karam’s criteria.

Unfortunately, Steve Harvey also sent this apology via Twitter. Um...yeah.

Philippians? Columbia? One step forward, two steps back.
