Each time a new year begins, resolutions also start pouring in. A slew of content centered on change and betterment comes with the dawn of a new year that symbolizes a new beginning. While it may get overwhelming to see how everybody plans on approaching their 2025 rebrand, it's always important to remember that you still have time. After all, you only have 365 days more to commit to it. It's also easier to start something with an accountability partner, so let's be that for each other!
Here's The Ultimate Cosmo Girl In/Out List For 2025
IN: Journaling and making a vision board
It's never okay to let yourself get weighed down by the past. But whipping out your journal or notes app with your 2024 manifestations to reflect on how far you've come is a great way to kickstart a new beginning. You can tick off the things you achieved and think about how you got them done—did you embrace a new mindset or adjust your routine? You'll also spot the goals you haven’t completed yet, which you can approach differently in 2025. P.S. If all you did was survive 2024, pat yourself on the back—that's no small feat.
Another simple and affordable way to welcome the new year is by making a vision board. You can go the traditional route, cutting out pictures and pinning them up where you'll see them daily, or go digital with tools like Jamboard or Pinterest. Bonus: digital boards are easier to tweak and waste-free!
IN: Investing time in getting a 2025 makeover
Is it really a rebrand if you don't do a makeover? Our fave early 2000s rom-com movies didn't raise us to skirt around this essential step! Mia Thermopolis' transformation should always be our inspiration when it comes to rebrands. But, you don't need to go over the top like they did in The Princess Diaries. Instead, you can look up certain treatments, nail art, or hairstyle pegs want to try at the beginning of the year. According to beauty predictions, in the hair color department, minimalist shades and hypernaturals (think Hailey Bieber) are shaping up to be early trends.
Maybe 2025 is also the year you'll defy aging (not that aging isn't a graceful and natural thing!) But in case one of the features you want to achieve in 2025 is a more chiseled face that Julia Montes has been open about wanting, then maybe trying out Avignon Clinic's Ulthera Ultimate Lift is a bucket list for the year ahead. (ICYMI, Avignon Clinic just opened their Alabang branch in December and it was graced by some of the biggest celebrities including Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes and P-pop Kings SB19. So if you're from the South, this is the perfect opportunity try out something new for a glow-up.)

IN: Commiting to a doable workout
A common misconception when it comes to working out is that you immediately start hardcore. Like everything else, you need to build a healthy habit when it comes to working out. Starting small is also essential when it comes to working out because we don't want to strain ourselves and potentially put ourselves at risk of injury, do we?
Find a doable workout that you think you can stick to. It doesn't have to be lifting weights or doing high-impact workouts if it's not for you! You can go running, cycling, or even attend dance workout workshops if it's also a more fun way for you to move your body. The 808 Studio even offers K-pop dance classes so K-pop stans can do cardio with their ult group's latest songs and choreo. If you want something slow and more intentional Vida Yoga offers the hottest classes (literally!) at different levels, so beginners are totally invited to try it out!

OUT: Talking badly about yourself
To start with the outs, we're unlearning a bad habit that many do unconsciously (including myself.) Talking badly about yourself according to Witchytok (TikTok's spiritual corner) is actually a way to attract bad energy. By speaking badly about yourself, whether it be about your appearance, your attitude, or even your finances, you are putting that energy out into the universe and claiming it to be true. So, instead of speaking badly about yourself, always try to speak in a more positive light. For example, instead of saying "I'm broke," say "I don't have the extra budget to spend on that right now." In 2025, we are not attracting bad juju—even unintentionally!
OUT: Doomscrolling while bed rotting
While mummifying in bed wrapped in a warm blanket is always a comfort, bedrotting is an out for 2025. That's two points for bed rotting and doomscrolling so far until you fall into the deepest depths of TikTok (a.k.a. when you get to the point you watch all the episodes of a show about a fake heiress). Yes, I know it's tempting (especially when the plot is this juicy), but it would actually feel much better to be productive than not notice hours have gone by just because you were too engrossed with the beef between two high schoolers.

OUT: Overconsumption
Let's admit it. A lot of us were in the running to be the next overconsumption final boss™ in 2024. With all the releases done in the past year, it was honestly such a big challenge not to fall right into the hands of capitalism. While many became avid collectors of anik-aniks like Sonny Angels, Smiskis, and Labubus, as a beauty girl, my choice of poison was local beauty products. Dare I say, each time a local brand released a new product, I immediately wanted to get my hands on it.

But I've learned that as much as makeup should be enjoyable and playful, I didn't really need to buy each new blush that gets released. I didn't need that many setting powders. Not only did I end up spending so much, it was also not the most environmentally friendly either. This is why sometimes, embracing JOMO (joy of missing out) is better.
