Undergoing a P20 million restoration program, Jones Bridge in Manila now sports a new look. Ornate street lamps and plants now adorn the historic bridge, according to GMA News Online. Certain parts of the bridge will be painted and sculptures will be restored to their original design as part of the restoration program, according to ANCX.
A couple recently had their prenup photos taken on the revamped bridge, which looks extra romantic at night.
Built to replace the 1600s Puente de España (Bridge of Spain), Jones Bridge was commissioned in the 1910s. It was named after William A. Jones, the American lawmaker who sponsored an act that turned the American-dominated legislature at the time into a Filipino body, according to Philstar.com.
