Do you feel anxious when Sunday afternoon starts? What you're feeling is called the Sunday Scaries. You can't help but worry about a meeting, a pending task, or a current issue with a client. While there is no way to control what happens in the workplace, there is one thing you can do to help you enjoy weekends more: A lazy weekend or potato day routine!
There is beauty in being unproductive to help the mind and body recharge for the upcoming workweek. Here are some low-effort activities you can do to beat the Sunday Scaries.
How To Enjoy Your Weekends So You Won't Think About Mondays
Be present.
When you think about a presentation on a Sunday, you're worrying about something that hasn't come yet. You tend to forget that it is still the weekend. It can be challenging to not get preoccupied with an upcoming big task, but what you can do is acknowledge that thought and go back to your weekend activity. Appreciate your surroundings, and be thankful that you're enjoying a day of rest.
This habit takes practice—be kind to yourself when you catch yourself fixating on work. It's normal to stress about an upcoming pitch. Notice this thought, then breathe. It's only Saturday. It's a Monday problem, LOL!

Fill your room with a scent you love.
When I reached my 30s, I finally understood my titas’ obsession with scented candles! When I first lit a cinnamon-scented candle in my room, I knew that the sweet aroma made me feel warm and fuzzy.
I switch on my diffuser and add a few drops of lavender essential oil during stressful days (or when I anticipate a hectic workweek). I feel relaxed just smelling it!

Read a book
We're always glued to our phones so going offline by reading a book will help reset your mind. Plus, this habit will keep your mind off work since you won't be tempted to check emails or Teams App. You can choose a fiction or non-fiction book, depending on your mood.
Hug your pet
A priceless thing to do is to hug your pet! You'll feel loved and cared for just by hugging your furbaby.
Switch to clean sheets
Change your sheets every week! Big girl ka na so you should be responsible for having freshly laundered bedding. This habit would be good for your skin: You’ll lower the risk of body acne! Plus, your body will feel presko, making snoozetime super easy.
Go on a food trip
I swear, trying your fave comfort food is self-care! Visit a food park or book a reservation in your fave restaurant. If you want to stay in, order fried chicken or burgers via a delivery app.
