Getting to Sagada in the Mountain Province can be a bit tricky. You have to take a nine-hour bus ride to Banaue in the province of Ifugao, hop on a van to Bontoc and travel for two hours, then go on a 45-minute jeepney ride to Sagada—which may or not be a top-loader (a.k.a. you might have to sit on the roof). If you want to skip all that, a provincial bus company—Coda Lines—offers direct daily trips from Quezon City to the Cordilleras.
Their air-conditioned Super Deluxe Bus has an onboard restroom along with 33 to 35 recliner seats grouped in twos, assuring you lots of leg room. Tickets are priced at P980 and trips are available at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. There's also free WiFi and blankets for passengers. The estimated travel time is 12 hours, but you can doze off and wake up just in time for your arrival in Sagada. If you can last half a day without an onboard bathroom, the Semi Deluxe Bus (no CR) seats 43 passengers at P760 regular ticket fare.
Coda Lines' Manila-Sagada route starts at HM Transport Terminal in Cubao, Quezon City and ends at the Sagada Town Hall. Booking online, through Coda Lines' or Biyaheroes' website, is encouraged.
